Meanwhile, Andy is trying to move on from the past to a new life since the murders. He is now in foster care, due to his mother being in a mental hospital for supporting his story about Chucky. Andy is adopted by Phil and Joanne Simpson.

Trivia. In the Child's Play comic series, Karen is sent to a state hospital because the police did not believe her story of Chucky and Mike and Jack refused to back her up. After supposedly killing the doll once again, she is arrested and put on trial for murdering her psychiatrist, which in reality was Chucky's doing.
Alex Vincent reprises his role as Andy Barclay (now 8 years old) in Child's Play 2 and is even better than in the first film, capturing the character's mix of innocence and trauma.
Unfortunately, as is so often the case, that Good Guy doll has been possessed by the spirit of a serial killer, the notorious Charles Lee Ray. After gruesomely murdering several people in Andy's life, Chucky attempts to transfer his soul into Andy so that he can be a real boy.

Plot. In early 1947, Portland, Maine, banker Andy Dufresne arrives at Shawshank State Prison to serve two consecutive life sentences for murdering his wife and her lover.
Even though he claims to be a devout Baptist, he accepts bribes from local construction companies so that the Inside-Out program won't put them out of business. He uses Andy's financial expertise to hide his illegal earnings and therefore refuses to help Andy win a retrial.
Andy also becomes a valuable financial resource to those who run the prison. As a result, the guards and the warden protect Andy from the Sisters, make him the prison librarian, and don't assign other inmates to his cell.
After she gets separated from Andy, one of the Chucky dolls tricks Kyle into triggering a bomb set by Tiffany, presumably killing her. It is revealed in episode four of season two, Death on Denial, that she survived the explosion. She helps Nica Pierce escape from Tiffany with the help of Glen and Glenda.
Andy's dad never appears in any of the Toy Story films, and his absence is never addressed directly. Naturally, several theories have sprung up to explain that away, including some in which Andy's parents got divorced. One theory suggests that Andy's dad died prior to Toy Story 1, after a childhood battle with polio.
Child's Play 2 (1990) does make her fate seem dark, however. She didn't back off from sticking to Andy's claims of a killer doll, causing the two to be separated. Little Andy is left with a framed photo of them in happier times. He goes into the foster care system while his mom is institutionalized.

As a human, Tiffany made her debut as a young woman in her early 30's. She is usually seen wearing black lingerié and other gothic attire such as almost always wearing black tops that reveals both her tattoo and cleavage. As a doll, Tiffany's soul inhabits a bridal doll she gave Chucky to mock him.
There were many rumors about why Catherine Hicks didn't reprise her role as Karen Barclay in the sequel with the popular being that she was pregnant by her husband Kevin Yagher who operated the animatronic Chucky doll, but the simple fact was that the director John Lafia wanted to take the story in a new direction.
