Unapologetically silly and all the more entertaining for it, M3GAN is the rare horror-comedy that delivers chuckles as effortlessly as chills. As long as you aren't looking for something truly scary -- or even surprising -- M3GAN is often a lot of fun.
The film's success comes on the heels of a bizarre, highly viral marketing campaign, including the doll herself maintaining an active social media presence and life-size M3GAN dolls making appearances in real life and on late-night talk shows.
The story is essentially an A.I. cautionary tale: Gemma (Allison Williams), a robotics engineer, enlists her orphaned niece, Cady (Violet McGraw), to be a test-subject companion for a robot prototype named M3gan, short for Model 3 Generative Android.

This not only isn't appropriate for children, this is significantly scarring for any sane human. The amount of torture, rape, and “real-life-recorded” horror pictured is so severe that it is physically sickening.
M3GAN is a horror, sci-fi movie that shows what could happen if we let Artificial Intelligence take over. The film is very violent and scary and it is therefore not suitable for children under 12. It also isn't recommended for children under 15 and parental guidance is recommended for children aged 15.
Is “M3GAN” scary? Honestly, not really. “M3GAN” is, first and foremost, a horror comedy, with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek. Filmmaker Gerard Johnstone knows what he's doing; his first feature was the terrific “Housebound,” which also liberally mixed thrills and laughs.

I score this movie a 7, because there are some things that should've been more fleshed out. But what we got was fleshed out well enough to make you want to own this project.
