The unrated cut of “M3GAN” is actually shorter than the theatrical version, but not by much. The theatrical version runs 1:41:56 while the uncut version clocks in at 1:41:50. For all intents and purposes they are the same film with no major plot changes or additions.
M3GAN is a horror, sci-fi movie that shows what could happen if we let Artificial Intelligence take over. The film is very violent and scary and it is therefore not suitable for children aged under 15 years and parental guidance is recommended for children aged 15 years.
The plot does have a few weak points and dangling threads, and the PG-13 rating ensures that the violence is tamped down before it can reach its full bloody potential.

First, it's worth noting that the maker of Stranger Things, Netflix, has rated it TV-14. That means they don't think it's appropriate for anyone under 14 to watch it. Of course, not all 14-year-olds are the same. At 14 years old, I watched things much more gruesome (I became a wimp later in life).
Great film, but not for kids under 13. I recommend this film to everyone who loves slightly disturbing films and TV shows like me but for anyone under the age of 13 you really should not watch it. It's very gory and contains adult language.

Universal has confirmed that M3GAN 2.0 will be released on January 17, 2025 — assuming there are no delays. We don't yet have any further information on when the sequel will film. The first movie shot from June to August 2021 ahead of its January 2023 release, so expect a similar timeline for the sequel.
Whatever M3GAN looks like in the future, she will surely want revenge on Gemma and Cady for trying to destroy her. M3GAN 2 could see the titular AI doll becoming even more vengeful than she was in the first film. If she continues developing her emergent capabilities, M3GAN could lash out and become even more dangerous.
