Slade has a long history as an enemy of the Teen Titans, beginning when his other son Grant received superhuman enhancements from the H.I.V.E., dubbed himself Ravager, and accepted a contract from them to kill or capture the Teen Titans.
Slade's personality takes a turn for the worse after his injection with Mirakuru, which combined with his grief over the loss of Shado makes him impulsive, reckless, aggressive, violent, and bent on revenge against Ivo.
Slade seeks to destroy the Teen Titans because they are enemies. Throughout season one, Slade sent minions and agents to fight the Titans and continuously watches videos of the Titans in action.

Slade was actually thinking of a certain raven-haired girl named Raven. When he first saw her during their battles against each other, Slade fell madly in love with her at first sight. In fact some of his evil schemes would involve Raven in some way too. Slade would dream of him and her together.
For many, the belief as to why his eye never heals is because his healing factor is limited. While he can recover from gunshot wounds and lacerations in his organs, it doesn't seem as though he has the ability to regenerate like Deadpool or Wolverine.
"The way it was written at the time I read the script was that Batman was blamed by Slade for the death of his son," Manganiello began. "Slate's son gets killed. There were some events that led back to Bruce, led back to Batman. That he had a hand in it, that he was partially responsible for it.
While Deathstroke's abilities are enhanced, making him the better combatant of the two, Deadpool's incredible healing factor makes him incredibly hard to put down.

The revelation that Terra was not just willingly working with Deathstroke, but sleeping with him, remains one of the darkest plot turns in a mainline DC comic. Terra was sixteen years old at the time of the storyline while Deathstroke was middle-aged, making him far more insidious than he would later be portrayed.
Their battles are never decided by which one is the stronger of the two. In fact, it is rare (if ever) that strength plays any kind of factor as it has been well established that Deathstroke and Nightwing are evenly matched.
