Often seen as just "Harry Potter's stupid friend", Ron feels betrayed when Harry is chosen to represent Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament. While Harry swears he never entered his name, Ron can't help but think that Harry wants to achieve another moment in the spotlight.
Among the worst fears that plagued Ron in Harry Potter was to be seen as his best friend's sidekick rather than as an equal. This took the best of him when Harry's name came out of the Goblet of Fire, which made Ron angry because he thought Harry had deliberately added himself into the mix.
Not only are they unable to apparate before Ron heals, but they also discover they can't destroy the locket. Ron carries it around his neck, which enhances his feelings of insecurity and inferiority, leading to an irrational jealousy of his two best friends' close relationship.
It's a betrayal of trust, with Harry never having considered that Ron would ever throw his words back at him and accuse Harry of leading them astray. Ron claimed Harry was the one putting his family at risk and that it was due to him that he and Hermione were stranded in the forest with no leads.
If you remember, the Horcrux amplifies negative emotions/feelings that are already existing. He was already Jealous of Harry and Hermione's closeness during the Hunt. It also amplified Ron's already existing insecurities. Hermione being Smart, and Harry more or less being the muscle of this group.
In retrospect, we completely understand why Ron was so confused all the time 😅
Why did Hermione love Ron instead of Harry?
The best explanation for Hermione and Ron ending up together? They have opposite personalities. Hermione is tough and independent and Ron is sweet and caring, and they have personality traits and unique qualities that make their relationship work.
She grew up as a single child: Ron has a huge family where she was always welcome. Harry had this need to be hero. Hermione had this need to be right. She probably wanted someone who would balance her.
The Weasleys are known for not supporting the notion of blood purity. They were considered one the biggest "blood traitor" families within the wizarding world of Great Britain. They willingly associated with Muggles, Muggle-borns, and other "blood traitors".
He may have, in his mind, directed that anger at Harry and Hermione, but only because the evil in the horcrux had exaggerated his fear for his family. Hermione forgave him because he wasn't in his right mind.
In the film, she only hugs Harry, and just gives a hesitant handshake to Ron (Note: This was the result of Emma Watson being hesitant to hug both Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint in public view, with her hugging Radcliffe during filming having to be frozen for a few seconds to get the desired effect due to Watson ...
She heard Ron making fun of her. Hermione was crying in the girls bathroom during the first book because Ron Weasley was making fun of her and insulting her terribly.
Ron couldn't really control his emotions with the horcrux on him. For one thing, it knew his fears and knew he would be most affected by the idea of Hermione being with someone else, let alone his best friend who he trusts. He felt like he wasn't needed at that point, which is another of his flaws.
In fact, Ron is consistently weaker than Harry in the books and movies. While Ron is powerful enough to fight by Harry's side, it's pretty clear that Ron's spellcasting falls short of Harry's, and he would lose if they fought for real. Especially if he's using that broken wand of his, held together with Spellotape.
To be clear, what Ron was saying here was that the only reason anyone would ever ask out Hermione was to get closer to Harry. After: Ron, clearly jealous that Hermione went to the Yule Ball with Krum rather than him, initiated a blazing row afterwards.
The most brutal Hermione moment came directly from her jealous rage at Ron for his involvement with Lavender Brown. Not only did her use of this particular spell suggest that she wasn't happy to respect Ron and his romantic choices, but it showed a weirdly aggressive side to her.
The injury was caused by Snape's Sectumsempra spell in order to stop the Death Eaters from hurting George (who he thought was Harry) and Lupin, but missed and hit George. Hermione and Kingsley then arrived, both unharmed, followed by Arthur and Fred Weasley, both concerned for George.
