Nimoy was approached to direct Star Trek Generations, as well as appear, but turned down both roles as he felt that Spock's part in the film was not significant enough. The intention had been to include Shatner as Kirk, Nimoy as Spock and Kelley as Leonard McCoy.
Nimoy turned down directing Star Trek Generations due to script issues and felt it was a marketing gimmick by Paramount. William Shatner, Scotty, and Chekov were the only original cast members to sign on for Generations, others felt their cameos were undignified. Nimoy returned to Star Trek 15 years later for J.J.
Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley declined to appear as their characters Spock and Leonard McCoy. Nimoy felt there were story problems with the script and that Spock's role was extraneous.
The producers asked George Takei to come back and play Sulu one more time, and take the helm of the Enterprise-B. But Takei refused, because if Sulu had taken the helm, this would have meant temporarily reducing Sulu's rank, so that he could serve under Captain Kirk again.
Executive producer Michael Piller later described this one act as "the breakthrough which allowed us to open the doors, that allowed us to begin to embrace our past". Spock appears in "Unification" (1991), a two-part episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Do Spock and Picard ever meet?
In this episode, Picard is in search of ambassador Spock who may have defected to the Romulan Empire. This episode has been praised for the "novelty and nostalgia" of seeing Spock, and noted for introducing a peace-loving Romulan faction.
Tragically, the heroic Vulcan succumbed to radiation poisoning. Spock was 55 years old when he died in Star Trek II, which is relatively young considering Vulcans can live up to 200 years old. Spock's father Sarek (Mark Lenard), for example, was 203 when he died in 2368 during Star Trek: The Next Generation season 5.
He wasn't left out, though. We know what happened. Sulu became captain of the Excelsior, served with baby Tuvok, Janice Rand, which we saw in both the Undiscovered Country and in the Flashback episode of Voyager. We also know, thanks to Generations, that he had a daughter named Demora.
Sulu, on the other hand, was absent from nine consecutive episodes in the middle of the season, the result of a film George Takei was working on over-running.
During the first five Star Trek movies, he serves as helmsman aboard both the USS Enterprise and USS Enterprise-A. He is promoted to captain and given command of the USS Excelsior three years before the events of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
As Spock explained to Kirk in Star Trek: TOS, his union with T'Pring was "less than a marriage but more than a bethrothal." Indeed, Spock was meant to finally undergo the koon-ut-kal-if-fee marriage ritual with T'Pring in "Amok Time" before she invoked her right to have Spock fight to the death for her.
According to this poster, Spock's full name is S'Chn T'Gai Spock. Per Cinema Blend, this name was lifted from a 1985 Star Trek novel called Ishmael, written by Barbara Hambly.
No canonical children have been mentioned for Spock. Drafts of the scripts for Star Treks III and IV hinted that the rejuvenated Spock impregnated Saavik during his accelerated Pon Farr, but this was not referenced in the script as filmed.
A breach occurred when Nimoy was upset about unauthorized footage being taken of him during a convention appearance. Nimoy's illness and eventual passing may have contributed to the inability to reconcile, but Shatner continues to remember him fondly.
Surprisingly, though, there's evidence the role of Spock was originally offered to Oscar award-winning actor Martin Landau instead. In a 1986 interview with Starlog, Landau, who had since become associated with Gerry Anderson's Space: 1999, recalled being offered the role, only to turn it down.

Initially, Chekov was added to the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series to fill in for George Takei, whose commitments to the movie The Green Berets limited his screen time as Star Trek's Mr. Sulu.
Walter Koenig is of Russian Jewish ancestry, which made him a good candidate for Chekov on Star Trek (1966). His family had emigrated from Lithuania, USSR and changed their original surname (Koenigsberg). Was cast as Pavel Andreievich Chekov on Star Trek (1966) because of his resemblance to Davy Jones.
A classic member of the Enterprise crew will return for the third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. After debuting in the final episode of the show's second season, Martin Quinn will stay on board as Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the upcoming season of Paramount+'s newest Star Trek series.
Demora Sulu was a Starfleet ensign serving aboard the Excelsior-class USS Enterprise-B under the command of Captain John Harriman in 2293. The daughter of Hikaru Sulu, she carried on her father's legacy as helmsman of the Enterprise.
Sulu takes command of the Enterprise during the encounter with the Klingons. Sulu's command console explodes in his face in 2267. Sulu was attacked and thrown out of his helm seat by Spock when Spock raged out of control due to the effects of one of the flying parasites that had invaded the planet Deneva.
LLAP' – Leonard Nimoy. The beloved Star Trek actor delivered this final thought to the Twittersphere a few days before his death in 2015. 'LLAP' is shorthand for 'Live long and prosper', the classic catchphrase of Nimoy's TV alter-ego, Spock.
Michael is about 4 years older than Spock, but curiously, Sybok was already gone when the young Burnham moved to Vulcan. Sybok is never mentioned in any of Michael and Spock's flashbacks to their childhood on Star Trek: Discovery, but was Burnham aware that Spock had an older half-brother?
Khan knew the Enterprise was crippled and could not escape the shock wave, which would destroy both Reliant and Enterprise. Scotty was having trouble in engineering, so Spock left the bridge and went into the contaminated compartment himself. He brought the “mains” back online, but killed himself in the process.
