Two-time Tony Award winner Donna Murphy has joined the cast of the upcoming film Anastasia, which takes an updated departure from the classic fable inspired by Russia's Imperial Romanov family. The project is unrelated to the 1997 Fox animated film and the current Broadway musical it inspired.
The film stars Armando Gutierrez as Grigori Rasputin, Jo Koy as Vladimir Lenin, Brandon Routh as Nicholas II and Emily Carey as Anastasia. The film was released through digital platforms on April 7, 2020.
While they all meet certain criteria, there's no official set of requirements to become a Disney Princess, and while there are some exceptions (such as Mulan, who isn't royalty but is still considered a Disney Princess), Fox's Anastasia still doesn't count as one.
In Anastasia's case, this means she technically just became a Disney princess. Anastasia tells the fictionalized story of the Tsar Nicholas II of Russia's daughter who was the only family member rumored to have survived the Romanov's execution.

Personality. From quite early in the film, Anastasia is portrayed as bright, spunky, stubborn, brutally honest, but very kind and caring. She doesn't behave like royalty even though it runs in her blood. She also is a tomboy.

The animation is beautiful and so is the music. Rasputin is scary and strange, but I was as squeamish as it gets and it didn't make me hate the movie. I think this is a great one for both boys and girls alike, as I said, it is an adventure movie for all audiences.
