THE LEGEND OF Tarzan is a film mainly set in the jungle, and features numerous high-action shots of animals – gorillas, lions, elephants and more. So you would expect that that the actors were bumping shoulders with all manner of wild creatures – when in fact, not one of the animals used in the film was real.
Mangani is the name of a fictional species of great apes in the Tarzan novels of Edgar Rice Burroughs, and of the invented language used by these apes. In the invented language, Mangani (meaning "great-ape") is the apes' word for their own kind, although the term is also applied (with modifications) to humans.
Though the film is packed with Africa's wildest creatures, not one of them is real: not the lion against which Alexander Skarsgard's Tarzan nuzzles; not the elephant whose trunk he caresses; not the ostriches with whom he runs or the wildebeest he corrals.

Ho Van Lang, dubbed as 'real-life Tarzan' passed away at the age of 52 from liver cancer. Lang, who had lived in the Vietnamese jungle for over four decades, died eight years after he returned to civilisation.
While Burroughs never said exactly where Tarzan was set, Cameroon's sandy beaches, imposing jungle and ape sanctuaries seem like a good bet – so much so that the West African country was chosen as the setting for the 1984 film Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes.

Sabor is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Clayton) of Tarzan. She is the generic Mangani word for a female lion, sometimes also used for other large cats without a mane. In the original 1912 serialized printing of Tarzan of the Apes, Burroughs used “sabor” as the word for tigers.
Sabor is a dangerous, mysterious, aggressive, ferocious, destructive, and powerful leopard who is feared throughout the jungle. Notably, she is the only animal character in the film (other than the baboons) who never speaks, instead communicating with snarls and roars.
