Illustration by Alice B. Woodward. There are no "lost girls" because as Peter explains, girls are far too clever to fall out of their prams. This was retconned for the 2023 reboot film Peter Pan & Wendy where the Lost Boys (still named as such) now include girls.
As the name suggests, the Lost Boys were all male characters. However, this temporarily changed in Return to Never Land, where Wendy's daughter, Jane, becomes the first Lost Girl (although she later leaves the group). Slightly is the second in command.
Peter Pan & Wendy director David Lowery has responded to the backlash directed at the movie after it was revealed that the adaptation's version of the Lost Boys will include girls.
According to the theory, these Lost Boys chose to grow up but didn't want to leave their home and instead resisted the tyranny of Peter Pan. Though this Peter Pan theory may seem ludicrous, its basis stems from the book on which Disney based their film, to begin with.
Unlike Barrie's original play and later Peter Pan adaptations, in which the same actor play Hook and Mr. Darling, the latter's role is performed by a different actor, Alan Tudyk. In this version, Hook is revealed to be an old friend of Peter's and the first Lost Boy, but he left Neverland because he missed his mother.
He does not hate all of the Lost Boys. The fact that Peter will not grow up - and is thus not affected by time whereas Hook is chased for it - fuels Hook's wrath for him. It also bothers Hook that Peter does not fear him and causes the other lost boys to not fear him. Hook is hot-tempered and treats his crew like dogs.
Many fans have adopted the notion that Captain James Hook is actually the good guy as Peter Pan is the antagonist, with the ideas that many of Hook's "pirates" are actually exiled Lost Boys who escaped Peter's gang or the Boys who found the truth of Peter's true evil intentions towards them and so Hook promised them a ...
However, one day Captain Hook left Neverland without warning, which devastated Peter and left him feeling abandoned. Captain Hook decided to grow up, and when he returned to Neverland, he was a much different person, and Peter saw him as evil.
It is hinted that Wendy may have romantic feelings for Peter, but unrequited because of his inability to love. In the original novel, Peter later befriends Wendy's daughter Jane (and her subsequent daughter Margaret), and it is implied that this pattern will go on forever.

So when Wendy kissed Peter on the ship, why was Peter so happy and overjoyed if he didn't love her romantically? I'm going to assume that you are referring to the 2003 film adaptation Peter Pan, which features the iconic kiss scene. This scene does not occur in any other adaptation.

However, even Barrie's Peter Pan play retained some of the darker tones of the first novel. Peter Pan longed for Wendy's company but realized she would eventually grow old as well. The sentiment of solitude would prompt him to murder pirates and Lost Boys as they started to age.
So, why exactly do Peter Pan and Captain Hook hate each other so much? Well, in most cases the story is usually portrayed as being pretty simple. Peter cuts off the pirate captain's hand in a duel (the hand is typically then consumed by a crocodile) and Hook…well… let's just say he isn't thrilled with Peter afterward!
Come Away – Ava Fillery portrays Wendy in the 2020 film, which acts as a crossover between Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. Wendy is depicted as Peter's niece, the daughter of Peter's sister Alice, and the great-granddaughter and great-niece to the Mad Hatter and Captain Hook respectively.
All the other lost boys such as Buzzo, Toots, Nibs, Slightly and Curly end up becoming reluctant pirates after they age into Olds due to losing faith in the deity Mother and such have their agelessness revoked by her.
Although not all people who come to Neverland cease to age, its best-known resident famously refused to grow up. Thus, the term is often used as a metaphor for eternal childhood (and childishness), as well as immortality and escapism.
Though sometimes ill-tempered, jealous, vindictive and inquisitive, she is also helpful and kind to Peter. The extremes in her personality are explained in the story by the fact that a fairy's size prevents her from holding more than one feeling at a time, so when she is angry she has no counterbalancing compassion.
We all know the story of Peter Pan: boy who never grows up visits children and brings them to Neverland in hopes that they, too, remain childlike, all while protecting them from the evil pirate Captain Hook who is bent on getting revenge on Peter Pan for cutting off his hand.
Rather than aging and being concerned about mortality, Peter Pan lives immortally in the flawed, yet exciting, land of Neverland. While readers may interpret Neverland as a heaven-like place, the story itself does not suggest that Neverland is heaven, nor that the children are dead.
“I felt like a fish out of water making Hook. I didn't have confidence in the script. I had confidence in the first act and I had confidence in the epilogue. I didn't have confidence in the body of it.”
As Peter notes to Wendy, girls were much too clever to fall out of their prams (strollers) and be whisked away to Neverland. That is not good enough by today's standards, it would seem. Girls must also fall from their prams and join the Lost Boys; they are not so clever, after all.
He is also a murderous character, almost to an extreme extent, as at one point in the film, he callously shot and killed one of his crew members because of his annoying singing. Later in the film, he viciously threw one of his pirates overboard using only his hook.
