During the episode "The Doctor's Wife" it is revealed that several Time Lords and their TARDISes had been trapped and destroyed by an entity called House who lived in a separate bubble universe.

It's well established in NuWho that Timelords don't have a fixed race and gender. We've seen three characters change race on screen (River, the Master and the General) and a hereto unseen version of the Doctor is a black woman. There's nothing in story preventing the next Doctor from being black.

Theta Sigma (ΘΣ) is given as the Doctor's name in TV: The Armageddon Factor. This is retconned to be the Doctor's "nickname at college" in TV: The Happiness Patrol. The names ∂³Σx² and ΘΣ both contain the Greek letter sigma (Σ). The Doctor's real name was spelled as "d³ᓬx²" in Marvel Premiere #57.
