Good family movie for tweens! There was barely any violence and I was kind of disappointed. They did a good job of portraying pennywise however from reading the book I expected him to be more dark. He looked like a regular circus clown.
Great film, but not for kids under 13. I recommend this film to everyone who loves slightly disturbing films and TV shows like me but for anyone under the age of 13 you really should not watch it.
Ben has a crush on one of the characters, if that even counts. Making out, a couple in one scene is seen in bed, the girl in the scene is forced to wear a revealing outfit by her husband, this scene is quickly over with.
In Cohen's 1990 version, Tim Curry as Pennywise was terrifying, but like many classic horror films it felt campy and cheesy. No gore or guts were ever shown; any pivotable scary moments with Pennywise were paired with loud music, slow motion and abrupt fade ins and outs.

At the end of the day though, which is better is up to preferences. The original, while cheesy in some aspects, has the whole story. It shows the Losers club start the story and finish it, while the remake only covers half of it. But, the remake is way scarier than the original one.
