While a radioactive accident blinded Matt Murdock as a boy, his remaining senses function with superhuman sharpness, allowing him to perceive his surroundings better than a sighted man and challenge what most people think of as a “disability.”
Although the character is blind, his remaining four senses function with superhuman accuracy and sensitivity, giving him abilities far beyond the limits of a sighted person. Few characters know that the hero cannot see. Daredevil developed a Radar-Sense, as well as echolocation.
Daredevil relies on an array of senses to compensate for his lack of eyesight. He listens for nearby heartbeats, he smells nearby body odors, and he utilizes his unique radar sense to identify folks in his general vicinity.
Compensating for the loss of his sight, Daredevil has four superhuman senses: tactile (touch); olfactory (smell); auditory (hearing); and gustatory (taste). His fingertips can feel the faint ink impressions on a printed page, allowing him to read by touch.
When he was asked to leave a retainer, the Beyonder not only used his powers to salvage a million dollars from an old shipwreck – he also restored Daredevil's sight. This shocked Matt and he was forced to readjust to the new sensory input (since he still perceived the world through his other superhuman senses).
Not only is Batman's takedown of Bullseye a clear indication of his superiority over Daredevil, but Bullseye even says so himself, meaning there is no doubt that the Batman vs Daredevil debate has been ended for good in this iconic Marvel and DC crossover–and Batman was the one who came out on top.
In Daredevil #1 (by Bill Everett, Stan Lee and Steve Ditko), we see that Matt Murdock (who, by the way, we should note obviously lost his sight when he was old enough to know what colors were, so he can at least know what red looks like when someone says "red" to him) actually CAN feel different colors!
But in the comics, Daredevil specifically states how the rain is interfering with his other senses and actually made it harder for him to "see." While Daredevil is able to track Goldy partially by his heartbeat, the rain and a nearby construction site interfere with Matt's senses enough that Goldy is able to get the ...
The surprisingly simple weakness to Daredevil's power was revealed to be rain by Daredevil himself. After luring Ikari into the sporting goods store and setting off the sprinkler system, Daredevil admits that heavy rain reduces his powers by as much as 95 percent.
Daredevil is one of Marvel's most skilled hand-to-hand fighters, earning him the respect of heroes such as Captain America, and Matt's encounter with U.S. Agent has even confirmed that he could successfully take down the super soldier if he ever tried.
Daredevil proves to be the better strategist when he first knocks out Peter by ricocheting his billy club, but it could be argued that he couldn't accomplish this without his new powers. However, his second victory over Spider-Man is a result of his strategic mind, something he's possessed long before gaining powers.
Of course Matt can tell what's around him much, much better than anyone else. He can't "see" what's in front of his eyes but he can "see" what's all around him...for blocks and blocks. He's a great deal more abled than anyone else.
Logan's superhuman senses allow him the ability to see, hear and smell in a far more heightened manner than the average person, with his hearing only a little less powerful than Marvel's Daredevil and his superhuman senses.
3 Crime Scene Forensics. Daredevil's heightened senses allow him to examine his surroundings. At a crime scene, he can smell chemicals in the air, the copper of spent bullet casings, or the metal in blood that was spilled.
Crime hides in shadows, blood pools in dim corners. Black-hearted thugs stalk the streets, snuffing out whatever light and life they find. Matt Murdock sees through this darkness as well as anyone, but it holds little fear for him even as he hears the fatal footfalls and smells the stench of evil deeds. He's blind.
Well, in the comics, Hulk has already canonically beaten Daredevil to almost dead. But mainly the why: Hulk is nigh invulnerable, has strength 100 times that of Daredevil, and easily capable of grappling. There is nothing Daredevil can do that would even close to phase the Hulk. So, Hulk wins, hands down.
Results. Wiz: This fight was very close. While Nightwing was agile and a better fighter, Daredevil surpassed Nightwing in senses, toughness, and versatility. Boomstick: Both were tough and strong enough to take on enemies like the Kingpin and Deathstroke.
Jessica Jones is similarly strong but doesn't have the same level of damage resistance and while Daredevil is the best martial artist, it's unlikely any of his attacks would harm Luke Cage (or possibly even Jessica Jones).
Had he never been blind, he might have never developed those skills, and if he suddenly gained vision, he might need to close his eyes to not have his fighting style thrown off by extraneous sensory information and need to train to make effective use of eyesight in a fight.
Shepherded by both his training as a lawyer as well as the Catholic values from his youth, Daredevil is at a unique crossroads between being a "good" superhero and a reckless, vengeful vigilante.
Echo, real name Maya Lopez, who is Deaf, is a vengeful and bitter Native American hero with a distinctive fighting ability that allows her to copy her opponent's moves. The uppercase “Deaf” refers to deaf people who share a language, identity and culture.
