The Darksaber may be a fearsome weapon, but it cannot cut through beskar, which is the most resilient metal in the Star Wars universe and also Mandalorian-made.
Beskar is tough but not invincible. As seen in the Mandalorian series, they melt the Beskar element to forge their Beskar armors and weapons. So, Beskar can be melted after all. Secondly, we saw the Darksaber strikes caused the Beskar rod to be extremely hot.
The purest form of beskar was capable of repelling the strikes of a lightsaber for brief amounts of time, and could withstand direct blaster fire. Pure beskar could still be damaged by weapons also made out of beskar; because of this, making weapons out of beskar was considered illegal by the Children of the Watch.
It's already been established that the hilt of the Darksaber is crafted from beskar, so it's also likely that Tarre Vizsla used beskar inside the Darksaber as well. Like kyber, beskar could theoretically conduct energy from the blade's power cell into the emitter.
Boba Fett's armor was a suit of customized Mandalorian armor worn by Boba Fett, a human clone who became a bounty hunter. The armor was made from beskar. It consisted of a helmet, a cuirass, vambraces with retractable wrist blades, and a Z-6 jetpack.
Beskar is supposedly resistant or proof to lightsabers, but is it strong enough to prevent itself from being crushed by someone using the force? Beskar is an extremely tough metal. It's unable to be affected by blaster bolts and even lightsaber strikes.
However, despite its strength, the armor doesn't offer total immunity to harm. Repeated damage can wear down and eventually break beskar, and beskar weapons are incredibly effective against it. There is also the risk of concussion, which can make even non-piercing blows fatal.
One of the most memorable moments involving a lightsaber is when it cuts through a thick metal door. The ability to melt through such materials suggests that the blade's temperature must be incredibly high, likely 20,000 to 25,000 degrees Celsius.
But the closest thing we would have in real life is probably Tungsten: Now there's actually an alloy called Tungsten titanium carbide which is supposedly a mixture of the two up above.
The Mandalorian makes a point of saying that he finds pure Beskar, which is the metal in its best and strongest state. Beskar can only be found on Mandalorian worlds, which makes it very rare. This means that a lot of Mandalorians before the Night of a Thousand Tears didn't have full sets of pure Beskar.
After Sabine observed that the Darksaber is deceptively heavy, Kanan explained that energy follows through the blade, with the wielder directing its current of power. The wielder's thoughts and actions flow into the Darksaber to fuel this energy, affecting the weight.
The black lightsaber, or Darksaber to give it its proper name, is one of the rarest lightsabers in Star Wars canon. Despite its rarity in canon, anyone who has seen the second season of The Mandalorian is likely to be familiar with the Darksaber.
All of that goes to show that Mando not being able to lift the Darksaber has nothing to do with how he acquired the blade or his failing the Creed. Accordingly, the best explanation is still that the Darksaber doesn't personally approve of Mando.
The plasma that comes from a lightsaber blade: Can cut through pretty much anything it touches. exceptions include Beskar, or Mandalorian iron, the strongest metal in the galaxy, as well as the scales of a Zillo beast.
Also, due to the unique properties of the micronized Mandalorian iron, also known as beskar, the user of a crushgaunt could easily catch and hold a lightsaber blade in his grasp, or summarily block an opponents blade.

One of the new additions made by Clone Wars, at least in terms of canon, was that the Jedi wore armor during the Clone Wars – but only for the first half of the conflict.
Notably, the Dagoyan Masters of Bardotta regarded the Jedi as thieves and kidnappers because of that practice. Some Mandalorians, most notably members of Death Watch, held a grudge against the Jedi for their perceived crimes against Mandalore during the Mandalorian-Jedi War.
It's possible that Gideon used the pure beskar from a fallen Mandalorian in order to craft his own helmet from scratch, or he just used it as is. It's also a possibility that Esposito's villain is using the same general helmet of a dead Mandalorian but made some alterations to it along the way.
