While Gandalf and the Eagles were a no-go for carrying the Ring to Mordor, it seems any other Hobbit could have done it. Gandalf wanted the Ring to be taken in secrecy, but Sauron kept tabs on everyone in Middle Earth — except for the Hobbits.Why couldn't Samwise carry the Ring?
