Domee Shi debunked a popular fan theory that Boo grew up to be Abby Park from Turning Red. She did however, suggest that they could be related and was happy that people considered Boo Korean, at least partially.
Boo is a little girl who finds her way into Monstropolis and becomes adopted in a way by Sully and Mike, Monsters Incorporated's best scare team. Boo is 2 years old in Monsters Inc, and Abby is around 13 in Turning Red, and their similarities could mean they are secretly the same character.
By connecting a few points, this theory suggests that Boo grows up to be Andy's mom. If it is true, it would be mind-blowing, but first, it must prove itself. Unfortunately for the fans of this idea, the connection is thin, even before Pete Docter weighed in and debunked it entirely.

When she first appears, Boo is very attached to Sulley (calling him "Kitty"), but he isn't so keen. But as the film progresses, he develops a bond with her. At one point, Sulley, under Mr.
Woody. Woody and Jessie share a sibling-like relationship. Since meeting each other in Al's penthouse, the two share a close bond. The two are shown to have pretty heated arguments from time to time, but they deeply care for each other nonetheless.
It is unknown what had happened to Andy and Molly's (presumably Mrs. David's husband). We never see her wearing a wedding ring at any point in the first Toy Story-movie, indicating that she could be divorced from Andy and Molly's father.
However, Peter Docter, a Pixar director and one of the story writers of Toy Story 2, revealed that the theory is actually false (via ET Online). Docter explained that he does have a backstory for Jessie, but he's not willing to reveal what it is just yet.
Mary Gibbs was the voice of Boo on Monsters Inc. When she was a baby, they recorded audio of her running around. Fun Fact: Boo's name is Mary Gibbs or possibly Violet Parr if you think about the theory that Violet is Boo. But Mary Gibb's name on the painting board is Mary Gibbs.
But Boo has issues sleeping because she is scared of monsters in her closet, specifically Randall, the film's antagonist. When she takes out her drawing of him, viewers can get a glimpse of another paper with her name written in the corner: Mary. Canonically, Boo is named after her voice actor, Mary Gibbs.
This theory went viral on many social networks, especially on TikTok. It became so popular that it even made its way to the film's director. In an interview with ComicBookMovie, Shi talked about this theory and denied it, saying that Abby was not intended to be an adult version of Boo.
Boo's real name is in fact Mary Gibbs (we prefer Boo though). In the famous scene where Sulley takes Boo back to his home with Mike, the little girl snuggles up into the monster's bed before revealing a drawing she did of her scarer – Randal.
The storyline took on many forms during production. Docter's original idea featured a 30-year-old man dealing with monsters that he drew in a book as a child coming back to bother him as an adult. Each monster represented a fear he had, and conquering those fears caused the monsters to eventually disappear.
I don't want to spoil people's conspiracy theory, rabbit hole investigations, because that's always super fun, but Abby is not an older Boo, unfortunately. You know, they could be related. I can see the similarity with the hair.
One of the cameos is of a little girl from Toy Story 3, who many fans theorized to be Boo from Monsters, Inc., who makes an appearance in Bonnie's kindergarten class. Another shot from the film also featured a young girl with pigtails in a pink shirt who tries to win the series' beloved newcomers, Ducky and Bunny.
While there was skepticism regarding the claim, Minsc insisted that Boo was, in fact, a space hamster who was intelligent and could converse coherently with him.
Notes/Trivia. It is apparent that Boo-Boo is simply an adult bear who is short of stature. Boo-Boo has remained at Yogi's side through almost all of the franchise in which Yogi appeared, the only exceptions being Yogi's Space Race and Galaxy Goof-Ups, in which Boo-Boo's place was taken by a new character, Scare Bear.
Upon traveling through her door, they'd discover that she had moved house, so the pair would undergo a quest to find their favorite human friend again. Despite the interesting plot, Monsters Inc. 2 was scrapped when Pixar and Disney merged, closing down Circle 7 Animation Studios in the process.
Monsters, Inc 2 never got made. Instead, Pixar made a prequel in Monsters University. Though the movie didn't revisit Boo, it did give fans insight into how Mike and Sully met and became friends and teammates.
Bo appeared briefly in the beginning of Toy Story 3 but doesn't speak. Her cameo is in the home movies Andy's mom makes. By the time of the actual events of the film, it is revealed that Bo is one of the toys that have been given away.
