Although this scene is only present in the book, the Siths' preparations make very clear that Dooku knows the entire thing is a setup and speaks with Palpatine as he does with Sidious in the films.
He truly believed that the Republic and Jedi were useless and saw the Separatist Army as something necessary to gain freedom for the galaxy. So, Dooku was all for Palpatine's plan to take control and would've happily stood beside the Emperor if he had lived.
Until the war was over and the galaxy was united, there was no reasonable way for him to take “total control”. He also tried to tell Obi-Wan in Episode II. Count Dooku knew that Palpatine was Sidious.
Revenge of the Sith: By this point, Dooku fully knows Anakin's identity and history. He likely understands Sidious' plan to replace him with Anakin and feels threatened by the young Jedi's potential.
Tales of the Jedi reveals that Dooku and Palpatine were working with each other before Darth Maul was killed. While no longer a Jedi, Dooku had not yet become a Sith. The novels reveal that Dooku left the Jedi Order about 10 years before Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
In the Star Wars prequel trilogy, the Jedi Order learned that Count Dooku was a Sith Lord in the film "Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones." The revelation occurred during the course of the movie's events, which were set approximately ten years after the events of "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace."
Sidious revealed to Maul that he did not intend to kill his former apprentice, as he still had use for Maul; it was Sidious' hope that Maul would lead the Sith to Mother Talzin, Maul's mother and the leader of the Nightsisters, so she could be eliminated as a potential threat to the eventual Sith rule of the galaxy.
He most certainly did. In the Darth Plagueis novel, in the chapter titled Days of Wine and Impropriety, we are given a glimpse into how Hego Damask, aka Plagueis, knew of Count Dooku. Plagueis had been aware of the Count from Serenno from before the Muun had even killed his former Bith master, Darth Tenebrous.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars portrayed Dooku as Palpatine's willing co-conspirator, clearly well aware the clones could (and would) be turned against the Jedi. Although he tells the Kaminoans this is just a contingency, his comments to Darth Sidious confirm he expected Order 66 to be given.
Summary. Jar Jar Binks's clumsiness may not be genuine, but rather an act to disguise his true nature as a Sith Lord infiltrating the Republic. Palpatine carefully orchestrated events to manipulate the galaxy, and Jar Jar's involvement suggests he may have been the eyes and ears on Naboo.
The most agreed upon theory, started by Reddit user Lumparoo in 2016, is that Jar-Jar is a powerful Force-user conspiring with Darth Sidious. In addition to this, some believe he either trained, or was supposed to become Supreme Leader Snoke, or that he is a reincarnation of Darth Plagueis.
Count Dooku's real name, Dooku, was more fitting than his Sith title, Darth Tyranus, as it speaks to his manipulative nature. Dooku played a crucial role in weakening the Jedi and the Republic from within, planting doubt and eroding trust.
He also knew that Anakin had been corrupted by the dark side of the Force, and he wanted to spare him from any further suffering or guilt. By not saying anything when Anakin was about to execute him, Count Dooku showed mercy towards his former apprentice and allowed himself to pass away with dignity.
Why didn't Count Dooku have a Sith name? He did have a sith name it was Darth Tyranus. However Count dooku was quite different compared to the other sith in the fact that he didn't really submerge himself fully in the dark side and that's why he never had sith eyes.
Sidious may have given Dooku the title of Darth Tyranus, but because the Jedi Order knew him as Count Dooku, greatly preferring to not indulge his role as a Sith, they continued to call him by that name.
Dooku argued that having a well-respected Jedi such as Obi-Wan on their side would bring legitimacy to their cause, and wash away any doubts the integrity of this New Order. Much to Dooku's dismay, Sidious dismissed the idea, knowing that Obi-Wan was too strong in his convictions to be swayed to the dark side.
In canon, Dooku left the Jedi well before Qui-Gon's death, reclaiming his rule over his homeworld of Serenno before eventually joining the Sith Order, becoming Darth Tyranus.
