Like Master Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi learned Palpatine's true identity in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Where Yoda went after Palpatine, Obi-Wan targeted Darth Vader himself.

Having just received the Order 66 command from Darth Sidious, Rex realized that Fives had been right and managed to resist his control chip long enough to tell Tano to "find Fives" before firing on her.
Fives' last words are "This is the end. Forget the mission. Oh, nightmare. I'm free." Deeply dark and ironic words for an audience that knows Order 66 is still coming.
Rex took Fives' warnings about the inhibitor chips seriously and made an official report on the matter. This knowledge allowed Rex to resist Order 66, and Ahsoka Tano was able to stun him and remove his chip.
