So, what pushed the production team to have a bald Nebula? Well, according to reports, the production team decided to have a bald Nebula to make her look less organic, and more like a cyborg. However, fans did get to see her luscious locks in Marvel's What If...?.

The Kree are a militaristic race of mostly blue-skinned humanoids from the planet Hala. One of the most technically advanced races in the galaxy, the Kree are skilled in genetic engineering and are responsible for the creation of the Inhumans on Earth.
Drax comes from the Kylosian people, a race of primitives who are considered naïve and hopelessly underdeveloped by the more advanced galactic groups. As a result, Drax is extremely unaware of basic concepts such as metaphors and customs.
In Vol. 3, Nebula has a more human response to her interactions than in previous films and was intentionally made to look more humanlike as well. In fact, her makeup plays into part of Rocket's backstory, which was a note from director and writer James Gunn.
If Gamora weren't enhanced to be able to recuperate that quickly, Nebula could have won that fight. This enhancement was a tool with which Thanos inflicted physical and psychological torture, ultimately turning Nebula into a villain in Guardians of the Galaxy alongside Ronan.
A quick, comedic scene in Vol. 3's Orgocorp heist teases some potential romance between Peter Quill and Nebula, but James Gunn claims that it was never going to become anything more (per The New York Times).
But what we do know for sure is that Nebula is a Luphomoid. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Luphomoids are a humanoid race notable for having blue and/or purple colored skin. Although, Nebula had some of her limbs replaced with various robotic parts after getting severely injured while Thanos was training her.
Gamora is the last of her species, the Zen-Whoberis, who were exterminated by the Badoon (a reptilian alien species). As a child, she was found by Thanos after he annihilated her home planet. Thanos took her in, raised her, and trained her to be an assassin.
However, Red Skull saw his true intentions, informing Gamora that Thanos was, in fact, weeping for Gamora, as he truly loved her as a daughter, and was heartbroken that he had to sacrifice her to get the Soul Stone. Disbelieving, Gamora could not comprehend that Thanos ever showed genuine love for her.
Nebula never knew that the cost of the soul stone was to lose whom you love most. All she knew was that Thanos went to Vormiir with Gamora and she wasn't with him when he left.
And though you might expect 2023 Nebula to start bleeding out or disappear, she's completely fine. That's because when 2014 Nebula traveled to the future on Thanos' orders, she created a split timeline.
