Did Harry come back because he was the master of death?
Of all the Harry Potter characters killed off in The Deathly Hallows, only Harry himself successfully returned to life after being hit with the Harry Potter killing curse (for a second time). The main reason for this is fairly obvious: Harry was the master of all three of the titular Deathly Hallows.

Whose death affected Harry the most?
While Dumbledore was a depressing death for Harry Potter to face as his only real father figure, the death of Sirius Black hit him the hardest. When Sirius first showed up in the pages of Harry Potter and the Prison of Azkaban, Harry thought the man was responsible for the death of his parents and wanted him dead.

How did Harry survive Avada Kedavra the second time?
Harry survived the second Killing Curse because a piece of Voldemort's soul lived inside him, and when Voldemort cast the curse, it only killed the piece of his soul inside Harry. Harry's connection with Voldemort helped him time and time again, including surviving the killing curse for the second time.
During the scene in which Harry Potter saw this disturbing form of Voldemort, he was in a strange sort of afterlife. The location looked like King's Cross Station, and when Albus Dumbledore showed up, it became evident that they were in a limbo in which Harry could either return to his life or carry on.
The prophecy is mentioned throughout the series, however, it never exclusively mentions that Harry is The Chosen One and suggests Neville was another option. However, one theory explains why, in reality, this wasn't possible.

However, becoming immortal from gathering the three is a misconception, as being a true Master of Death is realising and accepting the fact that everyone will die and there are worse things than death. Harry Potter collected the three Hallows and was willing to accept death and so became the Master of Death.
