What happened to Loki and Sylvie's romance in season 2?
The second season of Loki unfortunately sidelined Sylvie and neglected to address the consequences of her decision to kill He Who Remains. Sylvie missed key moments in Loki's character development and their potential romantic relationship was largely ignored, leaving room for further exploration in future seasons.
Speaking to ComicBook, Loki executive producer Kevin Wright explained why the show approached Loki and Sylvie's relationship differently in Season 2. "I think ultimately the stakes were so high. It's hard to slow down and have smoochie-smooch romantic time together," Wright said.
During season 1 the two had an obvious romantic relationship growing. By the middle of season 2 it seems that the feelings ended, and while Loki still cared about her, though perhaps platanocly, she didn't seem to care him anywhere near as much. Sylvie blatantly said she wants her own life.

Does Loki fall in love with Sylvie?
After a season full of flirty and obvious romantic tension, the relationship between Loki and Sylvie reached its climax with the Season 1 finale as the pair shared a passionate kiss at the end of time before the death of He Who Remains.

Finally, Wright points out that fans should consider Loki's endless time loops and epic sacrifice at the end of Season 2 as a very real representation of the "love" he feels for Sylvie, and friends like Mobius (Owen Wilson):
She isn't an alternate version, one that has escaped the main timeline. She is the Loki we all know and love. You have to remember, Marvel based their God of Mischief on Norse mythology in which the trickster god is genderfluid and often appears as a man or woman.
While Loki and Thor did, by heart, truly love each other as brothers, their intention to rule Asgard made them fierce rivals. However, Thor evolved himself by learning that a true leader doesn't start wars or seek to conquer other territories, while Loki sought to control the world and gain more power over others.
