Loki also wanted to rule Asgard and blamed Thor and Odin for undermining him and his capabilities. While Loki and Thor did, by heart, truly love each other as brothers, their intention to rule Asgard made them fierce rivals.
Loki had secretly helped the Frost Giants, legendary adversaries of the Asgardians, to infiltrate Asgard just before Thor's coronation. He then manipulated Thor, who refused to be seen as weak, into attacking the Frost Giants at Jotunheim.

By the jötunn Angrboða, Loki is the father of Hel, the wolf Fenrir, and the world serpent Jörmungandr. In the form of a mare, Loki was impregnated by the stallion Svaðilfari and gave birth to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir.

In the comics, Loki admits to being pansexual during his time as a Young Avenger and expresses attraction to both genders in Loki: Agents of Asgard. In the TV series Loki, he tells Sylvie that he has been with men — chiefly a prince — and women.
After he's captured by the TVA, Loki's tasked with helping it track down a variant of himself — Sylvie, a female Loki hellbent on revenge against the Authority. After facing down an apocalypse together, the two fall in love, which has reality-shattering implications.
In the films, his most prominent relationships are with his family, notably his adoptive brother Thor (see: Thorki) and his adoptive mother, Queen Frigga. In his TV series, Loki and a female version of himself called Sylvie fall in love (see: Sylki) and their relationship becomes a prominent point of the show.
Thor's wife was Sif, a golden-haired fertility goddess, with whom he had a daughter, Thrudr (Strength). He was also the father of two sons, Modi (Courage) and Magni (Strength), by Jarnsaxa, a giantess, and stepfather of Sif's son Ull.
Why did Loki turn into a woman? In the comics, Loki is reborn as a woman, known simply as Lady Loki, after the events of Ragnarok in Asgard, but even that wasn't too innocent: When Thor and his fellow Asgardians are to be reborn in new bodies on Earth, Loki actually stole the body intended to be for Sif.

In an act of jealousy, Thor's adoptive brother Loki cut Sif's golden hair while she slept, but replaced it fearing retribution with new locks made by dwarves Eitri and Brokk. But Loki reneged on their payment so the dwarves caused the hair to turn black when placed on her head.
Loki seems to be a narcissist in the general sense, if not the clinical, psychological definition. The idea that he might essentially fall in love with “himself” is comical, but not that far-fetched. That was the real story of the mythological Narcissus who fell in love with his own image reflected in a pool of water.
