CT-7567, also called Captain Rex, was a Captain in the 501st Clone Battalion, General Anakin Skywalker's personal battalion, and a close ally of Commander Ahsoka Tano, who served alongside him during her first battle in the Clone War… Did Captain Rex survive the Star Wars Rebels series? Yes he did.
But when Order 66 was executed, it was Ahsoka who helped to free Rex from the programming of his inhibitor chip. At the dawn of the Empire, Rex has escaped with his life but is considered killed-in-action in the eyes of the new regime.
Rex leaves Wolffe and Gregor to join the Rebel Alliance and to fight alongside the Ghost crew and Ahsoka against the Empire. In the epilogue of the series finale "Family Reunion - and Farewell", it is revealed that he was promoted to commander again and fought with Hera at the Battle of Endor.
What happened to Rex between Bad Batch and Rebels?
Rex's story is set to take him out of the fight against the Empire, at least temporarily, as he settles down with fellow Clones, Gregor and Wolffe, on the planet Seelos. His retirement on this remote world, along with his eventual recruitment to the Rebellion, is seen in Season 2 of Star Wars Rebels.
Rex thought Ahsoka died in the season 2 finale of Star Wars Rebels, but it was later revealed that she was saved and remained hidden during the original Star Wars trilogy. A reunion between Ahsoka and Rex is necessary to highlight their close bond and for Rex to find out that his best friend is actually alive.
Rex and Ahsoka are very close friends, having met each other at the battle of Christophsis after she was assigned as Anakin's apprentice. He took an immediate liking towards her and later congratulated her when she helped Anakin destroy the Separatists' shield generator.
Ahsoka outranked him because she was a Jedi, however Rex said, "In my book, experience outranks everything". Ahsoka then replied, "Well, if experience outranks everything, I guess I'd better start getting some!" The two became friends and Ahsoka got more experience, eventually outranking the captain!
Fives's death led him to uncover his inhibitor chip, which enabled him and his long-time friend Ahsoka to escape Order 66 during the Siege of Mandalore. After living on Seelos with fellow Clone veterans Commanders Gregor and Wolffe, Rex joined the Phoenix Cell and reunited with his old friend Tano.
Captain Rex was born in 32BBY, and survived the clone wars and order 66. This means at the time of his appearance in Rebels he was just under 32 years old, which is quite a significant age for a clone trooper. This means that by the Battle of Crait (the last significant event in the movies), he was 66 years old.
Whether or not he was the rebel commando named Nik Sant is the subject of debate: However, in the New Canon Rex did serve with Luke, Han and Leia at least once.
Interestingly enough, Rex seemed to be differently affected by Order 66, as he managed to hold off shooting Ahsoka for a while. Rex was later saved from his programming by Ahsoka and some droids that managed to remove his inhibitor chip, freeing Rex from the orders of Darth Sidious.
Where Ezra Bridger went after Star Wars Rebels' ending remains a mystery. The only known fact about Ezra's whereabouts is that he and Thrawn were sent to the same place, as they were both inside the same ship when the Purrgil jumped to hyperspace.
The “Ahsoka” series is expected to be set around the same time as “The Mandalorian” – almost eight years after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” by which time the Rex character will be a chronological age of 44 and a biological age/appearance of a man well into his 80s (Morrison is 62).
Given clones have an accelerated growth rate, it's entirely possible for Rex to be in Return of the Jedi as an older man. Sabine Wren confirmed in Star Wars Rebels that Rex was present at the Battle of Endor, but whether he was seen on-screen in Return of the Jedi remains in canon limbo.
Sabine is believed to be two years older than Ezra. Although, during the first season, Ezra's birthday occurred on Empire day making him fifteen while Sabine was still sixteen. Outside of Ezra, no other character's age is confirmed beyond when they are first introduced.
Throughout the series, Ezra was seen the ages of 14 in half of season 1, 15 in the second half of season 1 and most of season 2, 17 to 18 in season 3, and 19 in season 4. Ezra was a boy with tan caramel skin, deep, sapphire blue eyes and was a lean teenager.
Speed wins the race, having successfully exposed Royalton's crimes. While Racer X watches it is revealed in a flashback montage that he really is Rex, who has faked his death and undergone plastic surgery to change his appearance as part of his plan to save his family and the sport of racing.
After covering the retreat of his allies, Gregor was reported as missing in action after the battle and was considered to be dead. Despite his efforts, the rest of Gregor's squad perished in the battle.
Rex took command of the 332nd Division, while the other half of the 501st was placed under Appo, a Clone Sergeant within the legion who was promoted to Clone Commander upon the execution of Order 66 with Rex offworld with the 332nd.
Nearing the end of the Clone Wars, like Anakin, Rex also held a high degree of trust in Ahsoka, being one of the few people that were doubtful of her being guilty of committing murder and bombing the Coruscant Jedi Temple, telling Commander Fox that "I know Commander Tano. She would never do something like this".
