The first R-rated content to stream on Disney+ in the United States are the films Deadpool and Logan. Disney+ original content was censored once. One year after the original release, an episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was modified, but the uncensored version was restored shortly after.
On Friday, Disney+ launched the first R-rated movies on the streaming platform: “Deadpool,” “Deadpool 2” and “Logan.” The three Marvel movies were produced by 20th Century Fox, which is now part of Disney — and they're filled with violence, adult themes and profanity.
Users can set content ratings for each profile*. Once set, shows and movies rated higher than the profile's content rating will not be shown while browsing or searching Disney+. To adjust a profile's content ratings, follow the steps below: Navigate to your profiles and select Edit profiles.
Parents need to know that Once Upon a Deadpool is an edited, toned-down version of Deadpool 2 with an additional framing device in which Wade/Deadpool holds Fred Savage hostage and reads him the movie's story, Princess Bride-style.
Disney+ just got a little more adult. The streaming service added its first R-rated films in the US on Friday with “Deadpool,” “Deadpool 2” and “Logan.” The movies star Marvel superheroes, but as their ratings suggest, they're decidedly not kid-friendly.
Parents need to know that Deadpool is a superhero story aimed at -- and most appropriate for -- mature audiences only. It has lots of graphic violence, sex (including partial nudity), adult humor, and nonstop strong language.
Where Is Deadpool Streaming? As of July 22, 2022, Deadpool, Deadpool 2 are both now streaming on Disney+ as announced in a tweet by Disney+ on July 21. That means you can now watch every Marvel adaptation all in one place. You'll need a subscription if you want to stream them, though.

This version toned down the film's violence and cut or bleeped out much of the profanity in order to receive a PG-13 rating in the U.S. instead of the original R rating, but also added some material omitted from the original theatrical release which was included in the 'Super Duper Cut'.
Through Touchstone, Disney's first R-rated film, Down and Out in Beverly Hills, came on January 31, 1986, and was a large box-office success. Ruthless People followed on June 27, 1986, and was also very successful.
The writing in this movie is just plain phenomenal, and the comedy: golden. However, Deadpool is not for kids. While this film does have an incredible story, amazing writing and fantastic acting, its also VERY mature in almost every aspect.
“Deadpool” is rated R for graphic violence, graphic language, graphic nudity, graphic sexual references and graphic sex — a sex montage, in fact. So I was surprised to see just two dads, each with two children in tow, all in what looked like the 11-13 age range, leave early, both after the sex montage.
Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have spoken of the time they wrote a PG-13 version of the original Deadpool, which was essentially the exact same story with milder violence and language. In that instance, they conceded that while it still worked, Deadpool is a character best suited to a higher rating.
This week, Hulu revealed the full list of titles exiting the service over the course of May. Much to the surprise of many subscribers, both Deadpool films wound up on the list.
However, as of now, Deadpool is no longer available to stream on Netflix in any region. The disappearance of Deadpool from Netflix makes sense, though, as it recently got a new home. Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan all migrated over to Disney+ and are currently available to stream.

While the Deadpool movies had previously been made available for streaming at Disney-owned Hulu, this marks the first time the three R-rated films will join other Marvel movies on Disney+. It wasn't until March of this year when Disney+ finally began integrating TV-MA and R-rated content.
As with the original, it's important to note that this is not a typical superhero movie that families with elementary schoolers and tweens will want to see; it's truly best for older teens and adults who will understand and appreciate the humor (not to mention be able to stomach the incredibly gory violence).
