Ultron appears in media set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This version is the dark reflection of Tony Stark rather than Hank Pym, and was created by Stark and Bruce Banner using a decrypted code derived from the Mind Stone.
Voiced by. Ultron was an artificial intelligence who was originally designed to be part of a peacekeeping program created by both Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, using the decrypted code derived from the Mind Stone encased within Loki's Scepter.
Ultron was created by the original Ant-Man, Doctor Henry “Hank” Pym. Dr. Pym also founded the Avengers with his wife, Janet van Dyne (AKA the Wasp), whom Ultron would come to consider a mother.
The 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron saw Earth's Mightiest Heroes take on the evil robot Ultron and his army of deadly drones, but the creation of Ultron itself was inspired by Tony Stark receiving an apocalyptic vision of a potential future fueled by a magical suggestion from Wanda Maximoff.
Right away, there are some clear differences between the film and comic Ultrons. First and foremost is that Ultron was originally built by Hank Pym, the first Ant-Man, rather than Tony Stark.
Tony Stark initially sees Ultron as a form of A.I. that could keep peace on a global scale, essentially acting as a suit of armor around the whole world, protecting it from large scale threats like the Chitauri.

Because Stark missiles kill her parents and nearly kill her and her twin brother Pietro, Wanda spends much of her youth hating Tony Stark. Her initial ally, Ultron, plays off of that rage and manipulates the twins into working for him against the Avengers.
If Tony Stark hadn't created Ultron, Sokovia would have been spared from being obliterated. Therefore, there wouldn't be any immediate pressure to establish the Sokovia Accords, and the subsequent ethical dilemma of the Avengers' actions wouldn't have divided the team.
Tony said he saw "a suit of armor around the world," and that he needed Ultron to run the Iron Legion. But JARVIS was already doing a pretty decent job of that, and he didn't seem to have reached the height of his capabilities.
A machine can pick up the weapon and move it anywhere since it's mindless and incapable of possessing the morals necessary to be considered worthy. By this logic, Ultron himself could have lifted it, but it wouldn't have done him much good.
In Marvel's What If…?, Ultron used the Mind Stone to instantly bisect Thanos before the two could properly fight. In a fight without any Infinity Stones, however, Thanos would destroy Ultron, further cementing him as one of the MCU's deadliest threats.
Ares used a computer virus to wipe Ultron's program from Iron Man's armor and freeing Stark; he was later shocked that he was turned into a woman. Ultron's image later briefly appeared on one of Pym's computers.
While Kang and his evil variants could benefit from ruining or interrupting Thanos' plan, they would risk their own existence without the stability that the Sacred Timeline provides.
Tony was forced to resign as Secretary of Defense due to manipulation by an insane Scarlet Witch, who brought about the destruction of Avengers Mansion and the temporary break-up of the Avengers.
This is entirely speculation, but since 2023 Tony had updated his software since JARVIS became Vision, he likely upgraded Friday's systems prior to traveling back to 2012 and included a kind of stealth system which would be used to block JARVIS from detecting their presence.
This campy attitude failed hard, as Ultron's attempts to be a foreboding figure fell flat, given viewers saw him crack jokes earlier. Unlike characters like Thanos who never had any comedic quality, or Loki whose characterization was that of a spoiled brat, Ultron's hammy nature was far too uneven to be charming.
Why Age of Ultron Went Wrong. Avengers: Age of Ultron's problems began behind the scenes between Joss Whedon and Marvel. Whedon was heavily involved in the MCU's phase 2, and once his contract with Marvel was over, he was very vocal about his experience.
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) were all huddled together. Tony's Iron Man 3 pal, Harley Keener (Ty Simpkins), Maria Hill (Colbie Smulders), Thunderbolt Ross (William Hurt), and Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel rounded out the attendees.
