I'm baffled by reviewers who rate this as only appropriate for those aged 12 and up. There's punching and kicking, there's spear-chucking and shock wave blasting, and there are apparent deaths from said physical conflict—but all of it is very cartoon-like.

The CGI felt unfinished and they could have been cut together better. Overall, Black Panther is a triumph for the MCU and its societal connotations. This is, in my opinion, the best origin movie that Marvel has made because of its amazing hero, great cast of role characters, and truly menacing villain.
A significant amount of Black Panther's praise stems from its race- and gender-conscious casting and costuming. It boasts the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Black director, Ryan Coogler; an almost entirely Black lead cast; and a number of Black women in powerful and engaging roles.

However, there was quite a bit of violence, some slightly more disturbing than other MCU projects. Sirens sing to force men to jump into the water and spears are a common weapon used. Impalings occur, but are not graphic.

The movie centers powerful women making decisions, and I'm here for that. Also, it must be noted that the action scenes are outstanding. In Wakanda, women are the protectors, lead the military, develop the weapons and the strategies, and just kick ass in general.
Although all MCU movies have been rated PG-13, which means they're each allowed one use of the F-word, Marvel Studios has refrained from including that particular swear word.

The Bad: Weeeeeell, there's not too much. Natalie Portman could up Jane's sass and the movie would benefit, and the CGI isn't the best, but other than that it's good. The Ugly: Not much, a few minor curse words.
The scene takes place at the end of the movie where Ayo comes to Aneka's Wakandan apartment to offer to “[restore the warrior] as a Dora [Milaje].” And from there, along with their conversation “Aneka gives [Ayo] a kiss on the cheek,” to which Kasumba's Wakandan warrior responds by “[kissing] Aneka on the lips.”
