In the movie, we see Hercules receive his immortality but give it back. In the myth, Hercules got his immortality after completing his labors. In the movie, Hercules brings Meg back from the dead, but in the myth Hercules killed Meg due to his insanity which was caused by Hera.
Hades accepts, but only if Hercules can reclaim it in the River Styx, which gradually saps his life force as he swims. However, his will to sacrifice his life for Meg awakens Hercules as a true hero and restores his status as an immortal god.
The blood proved to be a powerful poison, and Heracles died. His body was placed on a pyre on Mount Oeta (Modern Greek Oíti), his mortal part was consumed, and his divine part ascended to heaven, becoming a god. There he was reconciled to Hera and married Hebe.
In gratitude, Creon, king of Thebes offered his eldest daughter, Megara, to the hero. Hercules and Megara got married and had three strong sons. The family lived happily together.

Who finally kills Hercules?
Painful Death
Hercules then asked for help from the gods to end his life, and he received it. The Greek god Zeus sent lightning to consume Hercules' mortal body and took him to live with the gods on Mount Olympus. This was the apotheosis, the transformation of Hercules into a god.
Hera hates Heracles because he is a living reminder of her husband's infidelity. Because of this she is cruel to him. She could bring about Herakles' death but instead she wants him to suffer. She sends Madness to drive Heracles to murder his wife and progeny.
Hercules punches Hades into the Styx, where he is dragged to its depths by vengeful souls. After reviving Meg, she and Hercules are summoned to Olympus, where Zeus and Hera welcome him home, saying he has proved himself a "true hero" through the "strength of his heart".
Youth. According to the ancient Greeks, the demigod Heracles (or Hercules, as the Romans called him) was the son of a mortal woman named Alcmene and the supreme god Zeus.
During the course of his life, Heracles married four times. Heracles waged a victorious war against the kingdom of Orchomenus in Boeotia and married his first wife Megara, daughter of Creon, king of Thebes.
Also, during his labors, Hera sends a giant crab to try to kill Herakles while he is fighting the Hydra (Apollodorus 2.5. 2.) Needless to say, Herakles is an ever-present reminder of the unfaithfulness of Zeus and she is compelled to destroy the hero.
The next biggest age gap is between Hercules and Meg, with Hercules thought to be 18 and Meg 28 in the 1997 film. Although Meg continually rejects Hercules throughout the film, she relents at the end!
Megara. After defeating the Minyans at Orchomenos, King Creon offered his eldest daughter, Megara, to Hercules as a bride in reward for his prowess in battle. Together, Hercules and Megara had anywhere between three and eight children.
Hercules is most famous for the Twelve Labors he completes for King Eurystheus. The labors were set for Hercules to make amends for killing his family in his madness. If Hercules completed the labors, not only would he find redemption for his actions, but he would be granted a place among the gods upon his death.
Whereas Hades remarked that he sees Hercules as not fit for Esylium and possibly at least dislikes Hercules. I thought this was because Hercules killed his own family in a rage and had to do the 12 labors to absolve himself of sin.
In the myth of Admetus and Alcestis, after Alcestis chose to die in place of her husband Admetus in order to save him, Heracles brought her back from the dead by fighting and defeating Hades.
The narrative depicts him as the antithesis of Zeus, who is presented almost as a modern-day God. It also centres around Hades' greed and jealousy, as he hires his minions 'Pain' and 'Panic' to kill Hercules in a bid to overthrow to 'good' gods of Olympus.
The fire burned away Heracles' mortal flesh and he became immortal. He was taken up to Olympus to live with the other gods and he married his half-sister, Hebe. And Hera finally put aside her anger against him. It seems that Heracles could only find peace after his death.
Hercules possesses the greatest strength of all the Olympians and is stronger than even his father, Zeus. His strength exceeds that of most other powerful Marvel Comics icons, which he proved when he took away Mjölnir from a Thor clone in Civil War, one of the best Marvel Comics events.
The arguments between Zeus and Hera were fairly frequent As Zeus continued to have one affair after another, Hera could not punish him because he was much stronger than she was. But she could avenge herself on the females with whom Zeus dallied, and she often took full advantage of this.
How does Achilles die? Achilles is killed by an arrow, shot by the Trojan prince Paris. In most versions of the story, the god Apollo is said to have guided the arrow into his vulnerable spot, his heel. In one version of the myth Achilles is scaling the walls of Troy and about to sack the city when he is shot.
Among his lovers were said to be the young heroes Admetos, Iphitos, Euphemos, Elacatas, and Abderus, son of Hermes, whose love for Hercules cost him his life (see above). Also Nireus, Adonis, Jason, Corythus, Stychius, and Phrynx. Male love may be central to the 12 Labors of Hercules as well.
Medusa was beheaded by the Greek hero Perseus, who then used her head, which retained its ability to turn onlookers to stone, as a weapon until he gave it to the goddess Athena to place on her shield. In classical antiquity, the image of the head of Medusa appeared in the evil-averting device known as the Gorgoneion.
