Kili is based on the character of the same name from The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. He is also from the film version of The Hobbit by Peter Jackson. Kili has had one love interest: Tauriel. After he is resurrected, they marry and have a son named after his late brother, Fili.
However, he is killed in the Battle of the Five Armies (The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies). Sometime after the Battle of the Five Armies, Kili wakes up in the Caribbean with Tauriel mysteriously appearing with him.
It is believed that after Kili dies, Tauriel becomes a lone rider and never loves again, she was so broken by the experience of losing him. Their love was real, and it was as strong as any other Middle Earth romance story. But this romance doesn't appear in the original book, so where did it come from?
In The Hobbit, both Fili and Kili die. As written by Tolkien: ''Of the twelve companions of Thorin, ten remained. Fili and Kili had fallen defending him with shield and body, for he was their mother's elder brother...'' In addition to Fili and Kili, Thorin also dies in the book.

Fíli and Kíli were Dwarvern brothers and were also the youngest of the thirteen Dwarves who set out with Thorin Oakenshield's company, along with Gandalf and Bilbo Baggins, to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug.
Legolas does not marry or have any children, based on the appendix of The Lord of the Rings. Regardless of who his mother was, Legolas is the last of his line. When he sails into the West at the beginning of the Fourth Age, he leaves no family members behind.
Fíli was slain with his brother in the Battle of Five Armies, while defending their mortally wounded uncle. After Thorin's death, the brothers would have been the only remaining descendants of Thrór's line and Fíli would have inherited the title of King under the Mountain.
After the death of Thorin in the Battle of Five Armies, Dain becomes King under the Mountain. He redeems the Arkenstone from Bard with a fourteenth of the treasure, which is used to re-establish Dale. Over the next three years, Bard rebuilds the city of Dale and becomes its ruler. The city begins to prosper again.
Though she and Legolas first met as children, and their relationship is significant, her romantic arc is not with him, as she develops a mutual attraction to the dwarf Kíli.
Tauriel truly threw a wrench in Legolas' life when he fell in love with her. She was brave, fierce, and a protective leader of the guard. He was meant to be the dutiful son of King Thranduil, but in loving her, he became a stubborn, masterful archer instead.
Spoiler! Kili gets shot by a Morgul-shaft in DOS, and Frodo gets stabbed by a Morgul-blade in FOTR. Yet it appears that Frodo's injury is much more severe than Kili's...
As Legolas runs after Bolg, Tauriel takes some athelas obtained by Bofur and uses it to heal Kili's wounds, while chanting in Sindarin. Half in delirium, Kíli speaks of her beauty and wonders aloud whether she might someday love him.
Kíli (T.A. 2864 – 2941 77 years old) was the son of Dís, the sister of King Thorin, and brother of Fíli. Kíli was one of the thirteen Dwarves who took part in the quest for Erebor, which was Bilbo Baggins's great adventure.
In the final battle, Thorin fights Azog with Orcrist, which he recovers from Legolas. Azog attempts to stab Thorin, but is prevented when Thorin uses Orcrist to block his blade. In the end, Thorin gives in, and is stabbed by Azog.
When Thorin died in battle, his nephews and heirs Fili and Kili were killed fighting alongside him, so his cousin Dain became king under the mountain. (Apparently women were not in the line of succession, though I would love to have seen Dis become Queen under the Lonely Mountain.)
Tauriel was an Elf of the Woodland Realm and the head of the Silvan Guard. Thranduil adopted her when her parents were slaughtered by Orcs and Legolas is like a brother to her.
Tauriel doesn't exist in the text, she was invented solely for the onscreen adaptations, and Legolas doesn't feature in The Hobbit book, and wasn't written until much later, when Tolkien published the Lord of the Rings books.
Their relationship is fraught with awkwardness thanks to Tauriel's solely platonic feelings toward Legolas. Despite the unrequited interest, the two Mirkwood Elves have a great deal of respect for one another and have each other's backs. Legolas also comes to accept that Tauriel does not see him the way he sees her.
Legolas and Gimli's relationship is strong in The Lord of the Rings, even though it wasn't explicitly romantic in Tolkien's source material. The members of the Fellowship in The Lord of the Rings forge an unbreakable bond while on their mission to destroy the One Ring.
After the downfall of Sauron, Gimli travels with many of his kinsfolk to the Glittering Caves of Aglarond. He becomes the Lord of the Glittering Caves, and prospers there for many years, doing great works for the Kings of Gondor and Rohan. He never takes a wife and has no children.
