Two-Face then calls Batman, "Bruce", revealing that he knows Batman's secret identity. Two-Face reveals that he struggled internally for quite some time over whether to kill his former friend, but decided not to because it would have violated his sense of justice.
While it was teased that The Batman's Riddler knew Bruce was Batman, it was eventually revealed that he hadn't uncovered the truth as his comics counterpart had. Likewise, Deathstroke, Bane, and Joker all know Batman's secret, as well as Ra's al Ghul and his daughter Taila (the mother of Bruce's son Damian).
Rivalries. Over the years, Two-Face had many rivalries with other DC characters, especially the following: Batman -- Although it was the crime lord's fault, Dent had blamed Batman for his facial scarring. He and the Batman had fought each other in over 50 issues of Batman and Detective Comics.
Think of what they could have meant for Gotham. Although the movie doesn't come out and say it, Batman and Gordon are partially responsible for Harvey's fall from grace. They didn't throw the acid on the District Attorney's face, but both men encouraged Harvey to embrace his dark side, whether they realized it or not.
Instead, the Riddler repeats Bruce's name as if it haunts him and Batman because he escaped the clutches of their plan. While it becomes clear that the Riddler didn't actually know Batman's identity, he certainly came closer than anyone else to cracking the mystery.
But The Riddler didn't know Bruce Wayne was Batman.
The moment Riddler says "he" instead of "you," Batman eases up and walks into the light for the first time in that scene because he knows that Riddler doesn't know his true identity.
The Riddler had a grudge against the Waynes having lived in their squalid orphanage as a wee 'un, but seeing as they were already bumped off, and resenting the sympathy he reckons Bruce got but which he was always denied, he went after Bruce. Warner Bros.
Widely considered Batman's most tragic villain, Two-Face was established as a tragic figure in his debut: a former law-abiding district attorney turned criminal whose disfigurement resulted in him being shunned by society, which led to his turn to crime.
Two-Face's death seemed certain when he fell into a watery pit filled with spikes. However, Joel Schumacher disagreed, explaining in the Batman Forever DVD commentary, “I did not want to have Batman kill the villains.” He deliberately kept Two-Face's fate vague, allowing him to potentially return in a sequel.
When he returned to Gotham, Bruce adopted the identity of Batman and began striking terror into the hearts of criminals. It wasn't long before Gotham became well-known for the stories of its Dark Knight and the menace he brought to evildoers in the city.
A dual combination of personal ethics and a lack of time meant the Bat had little choice but to get Harvey out rather than leave him to explode while the Bat zipped to where Rachael really was. The Joker tricked him. Though he gave the addresses where the both of them were tied up, he mixed them up intentionally.
Dent becomes severely injured due to a plot by Deathstroke to destroy Batman and get to his former mentor, Alfred Pennyworth. With his face heavily bandaged, Dent blames Batman for all his failures and resolves to get revenge.
Given that Dory probably sees Bruce come and go at odd hours of the night, and there's no way she wouldn't notice his various injuries sustained from fighting crime, it would stand to reason she knows he's Batman.
Batman: Three Jokers #1 (August 2020). In Batman's origin story, Joe Chill is the mugger who murders young Bruce Wayne's parents, Dr. Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne. The murder traumatizes Bruce, inspiring his vow to avenge their deaths by fighting crime in Gotham City as the vigilante Batman.
Superman once revealed the identity of Batman in the most absolute hilarious way he possibly could have, much to Batman's horror. Batman and Superman have one of the greatest partnerships in comics history, but this didn't stop Superman from revealing Batman's identity in the pettiest way possible.
Wayne violently asserts that he is not Arthur's father as soon as Arthur introduces himself, and point-blank tells Arthur that he was adopted and that Penny Fleck had been committed because of her delusional belief there was something between her and Wayne.
Following her introduction to the comics in 1999, Harley Quinn was depicted as the sidekick and lover of the Joker as well as the criminal associate and best friend of Poison Ivy.
Though Dent's face may not be fully realistic, his misshapen side is still a gritty and disturbing image. In The Dark Knight, Eckhart's Two-Face is a tragic hero more so than a villain.
Two-Face suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and dissociative identity disorder. It is said that this is why he has an obsession with chance and destiny.
1) When Two-Face first appeared in Detective Comics #66, his real name was Harvey “Apollo” Kent. He kept the Kent surname for his next few appearances, until it was changed to Harvey Dent in 1948's Batman #50.
So is Ridder smarter than Batman? That's up for debate, but in the eyes of the Batman writer, that appears to be the case. It's not an outrageous claim, but the Dark Knight has a genius-level intellect, so it's definitely close if the Riddler is smarter overall.
In The Riddler's mind, Batman is is partner. They want and need the same things. They think the same way, and they're both too smart for this mundane world. Therefore The Riddler is courting Batman and helping him stay out of danger during the grand finale.
