He is missing several teeth due to his habit of biting trees, poor dental hygiene, and gnawing on rocks among other things. Although his eyes typically lack detail and appear as small black dots, they are shown to have colour in "The Enchiridion!" while Finn is undergoing Dark Magician's trials.
Finn slips and falls into the Queen Worm's mouth, but he bounces back as it chokes on him and coughs him back out. He is blown into the air, hitting his head on a sharp rock, which causes his teeth to shatter.
Like other Adventure Time characters, Finn is drawn with rubbery "limp noodle" limbs and a simple but expressive face. "Jake the Starchild" shows that Jake (and Jermaine) turned five while Finn was still a baby, and later shows as a teenager graduating high school, with Finn still as a baby, implying that he may age fast and making Jake's real age even more difficult to comprehend.
During Adventure Time, it was revealed that Finn and Jake were the same age, and the series ended when Finn was 17. Therefore, it would only make sense that Jake would pass away by the time Finn reached adulthood.

In Adventure Time Mini-Series: "Islands" it revealed that around thousand years prior to the main events of the series, a group of human survivors of the Mushroom War fled Ooo on a container ship (as seen in Stakes) to escape from the vampires, oozers, and other magical and mutated dangers.
Finn dances with Quilton's daughter, Roselinen. However, no one knows how to get him home. Years later, Finn and Roselinen have married and had two children, Bonnie and Jay. Quilton tells them that an ancient book has been discovered revealing that the door to Finn's world appears periodically.
The three are forced to run from the Lich, as he begins to destroy the Citadel. At this time, Martin flees, and Finn tries to give chase, but his grass sword takes over his entire arm, causing Finn to lose it.
Finn has once again shaved off most of his hair as revealed in "Temple of Mars" as a result of catching lice from Marceline. Finn's hair became mostly stubble after shaving it. Finn takes his hat off again in "Come Along With Me" unveiling that he has grown back some of his hair since the episode, "Temple of Mars."
Later, the reason Martin abandoned Finn is revealed in a flashback in the Islands miniseries where he and baby Finn are chased off from an island as a result of Martin's past con-artist ways. To protect Finn, Martin defeated the guardian that thought they were trying to escape the island on a raft.

Farmworld Martin (real name: Martin Mertens), referred to as Finn's dad, is an alternate version of Finn's biological father who appears in the episodes "Finn the Human", "Jake the Dog", and "Crossover".

The Land of Ooo is the main setting of Adventure Time. It is the home of Finn, Jake, and all their friends and foes. But when he turns it on, it is actually a hypnosis that makes Finn enter his subconscious to visit his "vault" of repressed memories. As Finn goes into his hypnotic state, he explains to Jake his past lives; which included a comet, a butterfly, a "thing," and the Ghost Lady herself.
Why do Jake's pups age so fast? According to some theories, they mature fast because of their hybrid genetics. Lady Rainicorn can age rapidly, and so does Jake the Dog. In the episode “Jake the Dad,” in a span of two days, Lady and Jake's puppies grew from newborns to young adults.
In the Adventure Time: Distant Lands special, "Together Again", set several decades after "Come Along With Me", Finn has died long after Jake. Since Jake's death, Finn yearned for the day that he too would perish so he can reunite with his brother.
It's a signal Jake came up with. so we can find each other if we got separated in death. Oh, look, Finn, we gotta find Jake's. We can be reborn together.
