The explosions knock the wind out of Katniss and cause her to lose hearing in both of her ears. She knows that the Careers will be coming back to see what's become of their camp, but she can't stand.

Katniss said goodbye to a teary Effie Trinket just before entering the arena for the Quarter Quell in the Catching Fire book, and didn't see her again until the preparations for President Snow's execution in Mockingjay.
The Cornucopia Bloodbath scene at the start of the hunger games is very intense and quite disturbing. We see children brutally murdered by other kids, although the camera is shaky, making the gore hard to focus on. We see spearing and stabbings and blood splashing out as well as a brief leg amputation.
As the explosive finale to the “Hunger Games” trilogy, “Mockingjay” is the darkest and most grim book the series has to offer. Unlike the previous two books in the series, “Mockingjay” does not feature the Hunger Games itself, but rather features a rebellion against the Capitol that forces the cruel annual event.
In the film, Thresh's odds of winning change from 10–1 to 11–1. Afterward, they increase from 11–1 to 8–1. In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, Katniss states that Cato killed Thresh. I'm re-reading the hunger games books in this glorious hg renaissance and I'm trying to figure out in my head how many days passed between cato stabbing peeta in the legs after the tracker jackers and Katniss finding him at the lake.
As she approaches him, Peeta wraps his hands around her neck and throws Katniss around the room. He begins to strangle her, nearly killing her. He is wild, unable to be stopped, at least until Boggs knocks him out with a metal tray.
Peeta thanks Katniss for finding him and she says that he would have done the same. He talks about what Katniss should do if he doesn't make it back. She's worried that he might die, and to keep him from speaking of such things, she kisses him.
It took time for Peeta to break out of that conditioning, and even when the possibility existed that Peeta could be a danger to Katniss, the two of them still elected to be together and build a future in a post-Hunger-Games world. Their love for one another is evident.
Like the film's portrayal of Katniss' hearing loss, Peeta's leg injury is shown on screen. Due to an earlier leg injury, he is unable to outrun the mutts as easily as Katniss and can't climb to safety as smoothly as she can.
Like Katniss, Peeta ended up back in District 12, which was still recovering after being firebombed. By that point, Peeta greatly recovered from the brainwashing, but he still had PTSD from having his mind hijacked. Being in close proximity to Katniss was greatly beneficial as they relied on each other to heal.
She dropped out of school at 14 without receiving a General Educational Development (GED) or diploma. Lawrence has described herself as "self-educated" and said that her career was her priority.
While vacationing with her parents in New York City, the then-14-year-old Lawrence was discovered by a talent scout while walking the city streets. The scout arranged for the teenage Lawrence to audition for a talent agent.
