In Mockingjay, Katniss becomes more committed to the rebellion and eventually fights for the people, even sacrifices herself. Although, she encounters some obstacles in the process which put her in a position where she only prioritizes her loved ones like she used to.
She embraces him, recognizing her need for his hope and strength. Together, they write a book to preserve the memory of those who died. Though still suffering nightmares from the entire ordeal, they comfort each other. Twenty years later, Katniss and Peeta are married and have two children.
As the novel progresses so does Katniss Everdeen. From the beginning to the end Katniss becomes compassionate,develops feelings for Peeta,and starts to believe in herself. Firstly in the beginning of the novel Katniss is only shown compassion for those she's close with only letting her wall down for a few people.

Katniss heads toward the stream to find Peeta and discovers a boulder streaked with blood. She calls his name, but only a mockingjay answers. Katniss begins to move on, and then she hears Peeta's voice. It's coming from right underneath her and she can't see him.
Katniss is that symbol of rebellion. The last, most important act of rebellion from Katniss, is the prospect of allowing both her and Peeta to survive the Hunger Games. She knows that the Capitol must have a winner so she decides to use the “nightlock” berries to their advantage.
But instead they announce a rule change. Under the new rule, tributes from the same district will both be declared winners if they are the last two left alive. Katniss, realizing that she and Peeta can both survive, immediately calls out Peeta's name.
The plan is to break the victors out of the game and start the rebellion. They need Katniss because of her power and influence, but they know she won't join if Peeta dies, so they work to protect them both during the Quarter Quell.
At the end of the game, Peeta and Katniss win together by refusing to kill each other. When they are the only two left, Katniss defies the Gamemakers by suggesting she and Peeta eat toxic nightlock berries and die together. Just as they are about to consume the poison, they are both declared the winners.
Peeta decides, though, that he will go out on his own to act as a diversion in case Katniss and the others need it. Gale gives Peeta his nightlock pill in case Peeta's captured. They leave early in the morning, bundled up and styled by Tigris. Cressida and Pollux go first, leading the way to the City Circle.
It is likely that he is a relative of Hilarius Heavensbee. In the Mockingjay - Part 2, Plutarch appears to smile as he looks at Coin's dead body, suggesting that he approved of her death.
Snow laughs after Katniss killed Coin because he enjoys the irony of the situation. He avoided the official execution ceremony, even though Panem's citizens still take their revenge on him, while Katniss ends up snatching away the victory and power that Coin thinks she has successfully secured.

It's only implied that they get it on via snuggling and other affectionate acts in close quarters — but if you have read the book, they really imply that they took their relationship to the next level.
Peeta, Annie, and Beetee vote no, while Johanna and Enobaria vote yes. After some thought, Katniss demands to kill Snow. Once she receives an agreement, she votes yes, for Prim. Realizing something is up (as Katniss would never do that), Haymitch votes yes, too.
Gale does not marry anyone in The Hunger Games. He and Katniss talk about running away together and starting a new life in the wilderness, but they never officially marry.
Before the Capitol battle, Gale had explained to Katniss his series of bombs designed to feed off human compassion: a small bomb would go off, and then when medical aid rushed in, a second bomb would go off, killing those people as well. Incidentally, it's this exact type of bomb that took Prim's life.
