The first movie had the electricity-generating Connor (played by Robbie Amell) getting caught up in a gang, hoping to raise money and save his ill mother. He committed a lot of sins along the way, but he eventually found his humanity again. He let his mother die in peace, then turned himself in.
Officer Davis ended up redeeming himself from his antagonistic role in Code 8. To the surprise of Connor (and the audience), Davis took Park's “good cop” role in Code 8: Part II and became a valuable ally to Connor, Pav, and Garrett.
