I'm baffled by reviewers who rate this as only appropriate for those aged 12 and up. There's punching and kicking, there's spear-chucking and shock wave blasting, and there are apparent deaths from said physical conflict—but all of it is very cartoon-like.
Black Panther isn't recommended for children under 13 years, and we recommend parental guidance for children aged 13-15 years. That's because the intense and brutal violence is shown in a way that's likely to make the violent scenes seem more real to younger viewers.
It has received that rating for “sequences of strong violence, action and some language”. Marvel fans will be more than familiar with that age rating as it is the one that all MCU movies, and indeed most superhero movies, receive from the MPAA.
The CGI felt unfinished and they could have been cut together better. Overall, Black Panther is a triumph for the MCU and its societal connotations. This is, in my opinion, the best origin movie that Marvel has made because of its amazing hero, great cast of role characters, and truly menacing villain.

Why is Black Panther so highly rated?
A significant amount of Black Panther's praise stems from its race- and gender-conscious casting and costuming. It boasts the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Black director, Ryan Coogler; an almost entirely Black lead cast; and a number of Black women in powerful and engaging roles.
Curiously, though, actor Tenoch Huerta, who plays the MCU's Namor has stated that Namor is a mutant, not a god. According to Empire, during one interview he noted one detail that is carrying over from the comics; that Namor is indeed a mutant.
In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has some scenes that could scare or disturb children aged 8-13 years. For example: The death of King T'Challa is being mourned at the start of the movie.
The scene takes place at the end of the movie where Ayo comes to Aneka's Wakandan apartment to offer to “[restore the warrior] as a Dora [Milaje].” And from there, along with their conversation “Aneka gives [Ayo] a kiss on the cheek,” to which Kasumba's Wakandan warrior responds by “[kissing] Aneka on the lips.”
You'll find most of the harmful content from Wakanda Forever comes from the violence and some language, which we'll get into. Besides that, parents may want to know that this movie depicts strong emotional trauma and grief, mostly from Shuri as she continues to process T'Challa's death.

Is there kissing in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?
The said kiss is labelled as an LGBTQ+ scene. It is between Michaela Coel's character Aneka kissing Florence Kasumba on the forehead. The movie will run in the theatres without the said scene.
She'll probably appreciate short children's films starting around age 2 1/2 or 3. A few things to keep in mind: Movies can be great family-friendly entertainment, making your little one laugh at silly jokes and prompting her to sing along to catchy songs.
Black Panther is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for prolonged sequences of action violence, and a brief rude gesture. Violence: Pervasive depictions of violence include property damage, deaths and injuries by guns, spears, poison, explosions, fist-fights, animal attacks and fantastical/high-tech weapons.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has a lot of mostly stylised action-violence in this movie, including: Many battles scenes with weapons, such as guns, machine guns, canons, swords, knives, axes and spears. One-on-one fighting that's quite intense, particularly between Ant-Man and Kang.
In this case, we had Ugandan-German actress Florence Kasumba and Ghanaian-British screenwriter / actor Michaela Coel, who both play Dora Milaje warriors Ayo and Aneka in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The two characters, as per the comics, are in a relationship.
A recent example is the forehead kiss between Aneka (Michaela Coel) and Ayo (Florence Kasumba) in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which has proven to be so controversial that the movie might be banned in countries such as China, indicating that much of the world still perceives queerness as an existential threat.
Both the circumstances of Boseman's death and the plot of Wakanda Forever make it a heartbreaking story. Shuri's character development and Wakanda's mourning of their Black Panther pulled on fans' heartstrings.
Compared to other Marvel movies, especially those we've seen in Phase 4 of the MCU, Black Panther 2 isn't any more scary. The film does include violence such as water explosions, rocket launchers, drownings and stabbings.
During the battle between both armies, Namor says “Imperius Rex”, an iconic battle cry from the comics, with the Wakandans responding with the now famous “Wakanda Forever”, and Namor's battle cry makes that of Wakanda more impressive.
