According to the movie, Marty is 10 years old. This is mentioned in several scenes throughout the movie, including when he is talking to his friend, the lion Alex, about his upcoming birthday. Marty mentions that he is turning 10 years old, and that he is excited to finally be "double digits."
Mortdecai (commonly known as Mort) is a main protagonist in All Hail King Julien. He is an incredibly cute and somewhat innocent and annoying mouse lemur, although his age is not confirmed. (It was revealed in All Hail King Julien that he is at least more than 50 years old.
The two get into a fight and Marty leaves a remorseful Alex behind. The next day, Marty and Alex make amends when Alex pulls Marty out from the crowd (Alex determines Marty apart from the rest of the zebras with the bite mark left on Marty's backside from the previous film).

Gloria. Gloria is a female hippopotamus who resided in the Central Park Zoo as an attraction, all the while being good friends with Alex, Marty, Melman, and becoming the latter's girlfriend as of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa.

The idea of Mort having 12 wives is a running joke on the show. It is implied that Mort's numerous weddings are a result of his concern over being alone, yet it is never mentioned why he has 12 wives.
Rico has two scars across the left side of his beak and mowhawk feathers. However, it is unknown how he had acquired them. His beak is strong enough to snap off a padlock in "Untouchable." As seen in "I Was A Penguin Zombie," Rico freaks out whenever Skipper is gone for too long.

Mort made his first appearance in Madagascar, wherein he lives among the other native lemurs under King Julien, who used Mort as a test to see if Alex and the others eat lemurs (where Mort was starting to cry, because Alex scared him), and Mort quickly decided that he likes them.
And no wonder - lemurs are much more well-known. Not least because of the “Madagascar” animated franchise. Many of us know the charismatic King Julien and his assistants. Lemurs are indeed related to bush babies, but they are not the same.

As the Zoo opens, visitors are introduced to Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, Melman the Giraffe, Alex the Lion and Skipper, Private, Rico, and Kowalski (the Penguins) (“It's Showtime”). The penguins assemble, acting as if they are undercover so that they can escape to Antarctica (“Penguin Underscore No. 1”).
Also often Marty mentions that he is black with white stripes, although, in the herd of zebras, very few zebras have their exact stripes pattern. In reality, no zebras share the same exact pattern of stripes.
