Beast's initial mutation was enhanced physical abilities, and the ability to use his feet kind of like hands. He was pretty acrobatic. After his further mutation into his now iconic furry blue form, Beast got enhanced again, able to now lift about 10 tons. That's extremely impressive compared to his initial one ton.
