At its core, 4DX pairs movie-watching with physical effects. (Most of the time the movie is in 3D, but not always.) Expect your seat to move and to feel environmental effects such as water and wind.
4DX films will not necessarily be presented in 3D. If the particular film is also presented with 3D, glasses will be required. 3D glasses are available to purchase in cinema for an additional $1.00, and are yours to keep and reuse on future visits. 3D glasses are not included in the ticket price.
IMAX 3D and 4DX 3D, both are different movie viewing format. IMAX 3D is famed for it's large screen and Crystal clear video and sharp audio quality. While 4DX is known for motion picture with environmental effects such as seat motion, wind, rain, lights, and scents along with the standard video and audio.

"WARNING: 4DX is not suitable for women who are pregnant, the elderly, or persons with medical conditions (including heart conditions and high blood pressure), or injuries. It is also not suitable for babies, children under 4, persons under 3' 4" (102 cm) tall or people weighing over 265 lbs (120 kg).
The 4DX experience is not suitable for all cinemagoers*, but for those who are able to attend a screening and want to get fully immersed in another world I think it's worth the extra cash, especially if it's a film you've been eager to see.
The motion seats of the 4DX system are programmed to move according to a predetermined sequence during movie screening. As a result, motion seats can cause the following problems: your personal effects (e.g. popcorn, beverages etc.) may be dropped or spilt.
4DX is a 4D film presentation system developed by CJ 4DPlex, a subsidiary of South Korean cinema chain CJ CGV. It allows films to be augmented with various practical effects, including motion-seats, wind, strobelights, simulated-snow, and scents.
4DX equipped auditoriums employ motion enabled chairs, which create strong vibrations and sensations, as well as other environmental controls for simulated weather or other conditions, such as lightning, rain, flashing (strobe) lights, fog and strong scents.
Do you have to wear 3D glasses for a 4DX film screening? The 4DX experience takes place in a special auditorium at the Kinepolis cinema: thanks to its hinged seats and adapted environment, it plunges the viewers into the universe of the film. However, if the film is not presented in 3D, you don't need to wear glasses.
You may be hit by (clean) water or bubbles from treated water that may stain cloth, especially silk, during the Projection. For this reason we do not recommend you to wear/bringing along any clothes and accessories made of delicate materials.
4DX Screen (formerly 4DX with ScreenX) is the combination of 4DX and ScreenX film formats which presents films in a multi-screen auditorium with enhanced motion and environmental effects, with an additional fourth-screen projected on the ceiling and the newest 4DX chair models.

Remain seated at all times unless you are getting up to leave the 4DX experience. Be mindful of the footrests when getting on or off the 4DX motion chairs. Hot liquids, such as tea or coffee, shouldn't be brought into a 4DX presentation. Avoid eating or drinking during intense motion scenes.
Conversation. Hi David, we advise customers that the weight limit in our 4DX screens is due to the functionality of the seat movements and that if they are in excess of the limit, they may experience limited movement and potentially limit the movement of the seats around them.
The first thing you might want to keep in mind is the duration of the film. Longer the film is, more tiring 4DX gets. By the end of it, you have a little headache, with your back hurting with all the sudden seat movements. Plus, it doesn't have an intermission!
There's no bad seat in a 4DX auditorium as they all move along with the action. That being said, you'll be more engulfed by the fog and the bubbles closer to the front as that's where the machines are located, and you'll get a fuller experience of the rain right in the centre of the auditorium.
The 4DX experience isn't just your seat moving along with the movie. There is “water” you can also activate during any underwater scenes or splashes, but I tend to instantly turn that off. Still, if you want to get wet while watching The Meg 2, it's an option.

Sit comfortably in your numbered seat and keep your feet on the footrests. The space in front of your seat must be kept clear. Avoid delicate clothing or other items that may be adversely affected by the 4DX effects. Be sure to protect your clothing from wind, water, air bubbles, and strong odors.
