Like most Disney male protagonists, he is a heroic young man who seeks to win the affection of many other characters, which demonstrates his insecurity. He is not above lying and stealing, though never with malicious intentions, but to survive.
Aladdin (voiced by Scott Weinger, singing voice by Brad Kane, portrayed by Mena Massoud in the live-action film) is a street urchin who ends up becoming the prince of Agrabah after meeting Jasmine in the streets and being recruited by Jafar to retrieve the magical lamp from the Cave of Wonders.
Aladdin a poor street urchin, longs to do the right thing, but sometimes loses his way. He's the thief with a heart of gold, a charismatic actor with the versatility to play both the playful and caring prankster. Very strong singer and actor.
The original Aladdin story was actually set in China. Aladdin is one of the stories compiled in The Thousand and One Nights — a collection of Middle Eastern and Indian folk tales, however, it did not appear in the original Arabic text.
Aladdin himself just edges out The Genie as the most likable character within his movie and that is mainly down to the tough background he comes from. While The Genie is stuck inside of a lamp, Aladdin has to scratch and claw just to survive and his amazing humility comes from that.

Jafar has no morals at all. He's willing, even eager, to kill Aladdin. He wants to become Sultan because he's a complete megalomaniac who can never be satisfied. He wants his revenge on the present Sultan - under whom he has risen to the role of Grand Vizier, because he was born into the position.
As long as the lie helped him with his goal (i.e. getting the princess), he was OK with it. In fact, he only showed guilt and expressed any sort of apology AFTER he was caught. Clearly, Aladdin was selfish AF.
In contrast to Aladdin, Evil Aladdin is heartless and loves to torment the innocent. He hates his counterpart and longs for his destruction, and has no qualms with summoning a destructive genie to eliminate the city to do so.
The story is good and the pace is high. "Aladdin" is not too short and it's not too long, it's not too immature and it's not too mature, it's a perfect movie for the entire family with a wonderful love story (even though it's no "Beauty and the Beast") and good animations with some good looking early computer effects.
Cassim is the father of Aladdin. Long before the events of the first film, he left his wife and young son in order to find a better life for the poverty-stricken family. While he was gone, Aladdin's mother died, leaving Aladdin as a presumed orphan.
