Avatar 4 and 5 are currently set to be released in December 2029 and December 2031. The thing is, James Cameron said that they still have to film most of avatar 4 and none of Avatar 5 has been filmed yet. He said they will begin filming them back to back in 2026.
Following the release date shifts, we're now set to get Avatar 4 on December 21, 2029 and Avatar 5 on December 19, 2031. Some filming has already been done on the fourth movie with the younger cast, but there's still shooting to be done. Additionally, the fifth movie hasn't started production at all.
Distributed by 20th Century Studios, it will be the sequel to the upcoming 2025 Avatar 3, and the fourth installment in the Avatar franchise. It will star Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña, among others from the original cast, reprising their roles. The screenplay is written by James Cameron and Josh Friedman.
A fifth and final film has been announced and is scheduled for December 19, 2031. Jon Landau has stated that part of Avatar 5 will take place on Earth, with Neytiri visiting the planet. Cameron stated that Avatar: The Quest for Eywa is being considered as a possible title for the film.
On Tuesday, the Walt Disney Co. announced it has pushed the release of Avatar 3 back a year, bumping it from December 2024 to December 2025. The timeline is stretched even further for the next planned instalments. Avatar 4 is now slated to hit theatres in December 2029; Avatar 5 is set to arrive in December 2031.

The Na'vi people on Pandora have an average height of 9 to 10 ft which is almost double the height of the humans. The Na'vi people taller than humans because of the low gravity of Pandora. Additionally, the Na'vi people have only four fingers while the Avatars have 5 fingers.
