Does Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have a happy ending?
The end of the movie finds Shuri visiting Nakia in Haiti where she performs an intimate ceremony on a beach, coming to peace with the death of T'Challa. In the credit scene, Nakia introduces Shuri to Toussaint and explains that she and T'Challa decided to raise him in Haiti away from the pressures of the throne.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is a very emotional movie from the beginning. The film opens with Shuri frantically trying to heal her brother with an artificial version of the heart-shaped herb. Unfortunately, Queen Ramonda arrives to let her know that T'Challa has passed before she's able to complete her experiment.
Redditor UncleBullhorn commented, "The pacing was a big problem all through this movie," and although some may differ, the rhythm does feel uneven throughout Wakanda Forever. While some sequences feel fast and rushed, others feel slow and unnecessarily long.
The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ending illustrates a couple of different themes. On the one hand, it is a message about grief. The scene is a reminder of all the unfathomable losses that Shuri has faced in her young life. However, it is also a reminder that there can still be growth, beauty, and rebirth after loss.

In another improvement over the original, Wakanda Forever doesn't use wealthy and successful African American actors to preach to us about the continued inequality suffered by African-Americans.
Namor utters his catchphrase from the comic books, "imperius rex," but Shuri counters with a triumphant "Wakanda Forever!" and blows them both up. Namor, the child without love. With Namor apparently defeated as she holds a spear to his throat, Shuri finds herself thinking back over the events of the film.
As such, Shuri didn't fight for the Wakandan throne because she understood it wasn't right for her to do so at the time - and this marks a pivotal step on her journey to accept grief and find some inner peace, making it the right decision in the long run.
After Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri's mother, dies, she finally accepts her destiny as the Black Panther and saves Wakanda from the threat of Namor's invasion. In the final scene of the movie, we see Shuri go to Haiti to meet up with Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), T'Challa's lover before his death.
