In the end, all three of the characters find a happy ending, with Victor and Victoria choosing to marry and Emily finding closure in the afterlife. However, The Corpse Bride presents both love interests for Victor as strong options without truly saying which one is the better choice.
She was very jealous of Victoria and began to lament about being dead as she believed Victor didn't love her because she wasn't alive, showing that she gets upset easily.
In the end, though the corpse bride's tragic plight is regarded with compassion and sympathy, the tale affirms that the dead have no claim upon the living; the young man is ultimately free to marry his living fiancée, while the corpse bride is laid to rest.
There are occasional scenes of mild horror, although these are presented as morbidly fun rather than frightening. Examples include a corpse whose eye repeatedly drops out of its socket, and friendly ghosts and skeletons who reveal the manners of their death, such as swords protruding from their chests.
There are some nods to "adult" concepts or tongue in cheek jokes, but this is a great movie for the family. There are references to bones, maggots, death, but in a silly, Halloween style for kids. There's singing, fantasy elements, and the dead/Underworld. All in fun, however, so I find no issues as a parent.
Seemingly friendly characters appear with sewn buttons in place of their eyes, robbing them of humanity and instilling a chilling and uncanny appearance. Some very anxious and tense scenes. This movie is pretty dark for PG, should probably be pushed to PG-13.

The characters, especially Victor and the corpse bride, are well etched and create an emotional bond with the audience. Although we want Victor to marry his love Victoria, we grow to feel sympathy and attachment to the corpse bride as well.
After Barkis dies he offers to keep his promise to marry Emily, but she says his promise is already fulfilled because he set her free. Emily releases him from his commitment so he can marry Victoria and remain with the living where he belongs and she can move into the afterlife where she belongs.
Victor's parents are fish merchants, but they don't have the status that Victoria's aristocratic family does. That's why their parents arranged for them to be married— Victoria's family needed the money, and Victor's needed the status.
Emily in the end was able to rest in the beautiful form of butterflies, but the love between her and Victor was unmatched. Victoria and Victor did not compare to what Emily and Victor had.

This movie is supposed to be like a horror movie but for kids so most definitely it's going to be a little creepy, it's expected.. definitely wouldn't recommend it to younger kids but for older ones this is a great one to watch specially around halloween. I watch this all the time since I was a kid, it's just great.
