The home of Anna and Elsa is a fictional location made for the purposes of the magical world of the Frozen franchise, but Arendelle and its people are based on the Scandinavia region of northern Europe, which encompasses Denmark, Norway, and Sweeden.
It was unexpected, Elsa and Anna are both portrayed in the animated film as two Norwegian princesses from the 1840s — it's highly unlikely that their father, the King, was not white. I immediately looked over to my husband who had noticed the same thing I did. He shrugged at me. We looked at our children.
Heavily influenced by Norwegian nature, culture and traditions, Frozen introduced us to unforgettable characters like Queen Elsa and her sister Anna, the ice harvester Kristoff and his reindeer Sven, Olaf the snowman and a bunch of cheeky trolls.

On February 8, 2023, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Frozen 3 is in the works, along with Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2. While news of a third Frozen film was a welcome one, we have yet to hear more details about the movie or see a trailer.

The Frozen series' big themes are sisterly love and self-discovery. The first film introduces these concepts perfectly with Elsa's iconic "Let It Go" scene and the revelation that it is Elsa's true love for her Anna, not Hans' love, that broke the spell cursing her sister.
