As said earlier, Fantastic Beasts is a prequel to the Harry Potter series. New fans can even watch Fantastic Beasts before Harry Potter. After all, the Fantastic Beasts movies are set decades before the events of Harry Potter.
Is Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts the same in Harry Potter?
Dumbledore in this series just feels like a complete different charecter, maybe 100 yrs and a couple of serbert lemon changes you. Dumbledore is not as serious and wise as he is in Harry Potter.
1. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016) Set all the way back in 1926, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was the first Harry Potter spin-off prequel to hit theaters.
Voldemort was born Tom Riddle in 1926, which is when the first Fantastic Beasts film takes place. In Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, there's a bit of a time jump, setting the year as 1932. This would make Tom Riddle around 6 years old at the time.
In a series of flashbacks, using the pensieve as a plot device, she reveals that Voldemort was the son of the witch Merope Gaunt and a Muggle called Tom Riddle. Riddle abandoned Merope before their child's birth, soon after which Merope died.
This not only addressed the events of the first Fantastic Beasts movie, but showed that Newt was still alive as late as 2017. Newt also works for the Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau. In 1979, he is awarded The Order of Merlin - Second Class for his services to magizoology.

Do you need to see Harry Potter before Fantastic Beasts?
It depends on your familiarity with the material, although it's worth noting that even though the “Fantastic Beasts” movies come first in the chronology, those films follow the stories of adults in the Wizarding World in contrast to following children (and later teenagers) in the “Harry Potter” films.

Voldemort was Tom Riddle and Dumbledore met Tom as a child. Riddle also attended Hogwarts. Riddle was also a Jr to his father, Tom Riddle Sr. Nothing lines up with Credence being Tom.
Notably, Voldemort appeared to be entirely unaware of this split, as he later created a seventh Horcrux in his quest to have six, and continued to target Harry Potter despite him now holding part of Voldemort's own soul.
The two spells collided with a bang like a cannon blast — though it was short-lived. The Elder Wand, however, refused to harm its true master and flipped over, flying high toward its rightful master. The rebounding Killing Curse hit Lord Voldemort, and his lifeless body hit the floor, his white hands then empty.
