Ghostface was not a supernatural demon like Freddy Krueger or an unkillable bogeyman like Michael Myers — he was just a guy (or really, two guys) in a costume. Scream was a slasher, but it was also a whodunit.
Is Ghostface a normal guy? Now while Ghostface is simply a normal person in a costume as revealed at the end of every movie, the ghostface entity throughout the movie is capable of feats that are well beyond anything those human characters could be capable of.
Gender. Throughout the franchise, there has been a disproportionate and uneven ratio between male and female Ghostface killers. To date, there have been 9 male killers (8 in film, 1 in TV) and 5 female killers (4 in film, 1 in TV), with a total of 14 Ghostface killers.
Scream 3 is the only film in the franchise where only one identity is revealed as Ghostface: Roman Bridger played by Scott Foley. Roman is the main antagonist of the third installment and the fifth Ghostface murderer unmasked overall.

Why do girls like Ghostface?
Sexologist Jess O'Reilly says that Ghostface's seduction methods probably play a big part in his appeal: “In the early movies, when he phones, his voice, and tone are a little playful – almost flirtatious like he's building up to something that will be both exciting and scary.”

Scream 7 is officially happening, but fans have been stunned by two unexpected exits from the new movie. Both Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who played sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter in Scream (2022) and Scream VI, won't be returning for the new movie.
Detective Bailey, Quinn Bailey, and Ethan Landry were revealed as the killers at the end of Scream 6. Their motive was revenge for Detective Bailey's son's death.
Scream 6's Sam Carpenter is the daughter of Billy Loomis, but Sam and her sister Tara's mother may have also appeared in the original Scream film. Charlie may have been the least likely suspect, and that's exactly how he (almost) got away with it. However, Charlie was also one of the weakest of all the Ghostfaces. Not only was he killed almost immediately by his accomplice (more on her later), but each of his kills was sloppier than the last.
EGO. Discussion. Everything just falls apart when they reveal themselves and they have to do their monologue. It would be refreshing to get a Ghostface who's forced to reveal themselves or someone rips the mask off.
In the third act of Scream, when Billy Loomis and Stu Macher revealed themselves as the Ghostface killers, Billy told Sidney he killed Maureen as she was having an affair with his dad, which led to his mother abandoning him.
The number, (917) 540-7996, is a New York number, which is appropriate since the movie takes place in New York City. One of the most iconic parts of the Scream franchise, along with the screaming face mask, is "that" voice, created by Ghostface speaking into a voice changer.
Anika's ladder death in Scream 6 will be remembered as one of the most memorable deaths in the franchise due to its graphic violence and emotional impact, as she was killed by her supposed friend. The three Ghostface killers in Scream 6 went to great lengths to hide their true identities, even faking Quinn's death.
In old Scream and slasher movie fashion, Amber wakes up from the dead one last time and is then fatally shot in the head by her best friend and the film's protagonist, Tara.
Campbell hasn't ultimately said goodbye to Sidney and the Scream movies, so if the studio agrees to pay her fairly, it's likely she would return as a character for Scream 7. New characters might be at the center of the current Scream story, but Campbell will always be the face of the franchise.
“Scream 6” rides the momentum of the previous film and ups the ante in every way. It's funnier, scarier and much much bloodier. If you aren't a fan of gore, walk into this film with some caution. The kills are more frequent and take up more screen time than ever before.
Although Barrera and Ortega won't be in Scream 7, it's still possible that either actor could return for future installments, much in the same way Hayden Panettiere's Kirby did in Scream 6.
Characterization. Ghostface is rarely depicted as speaking while physically on screen in order to aid in concealing the identity of the character behind the mask. Exceptions to this are grunts and groans when injured, which are dubbed into the film during the editing phase by Jackson.
