Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released on May 3, 2023, but MCU fans already consider it one of the franchise's best movies. Marking the end of James Gunn's trilogy in the MCU, the film is incredibly emotional and sad, even when it boasts the Guardians' trademark sense of humor.

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 also seemed to want to cram in way too much into one movie. We could have just had the Rocket origin story and the film would have been just fine. Trying to cram in so many story elements ultimately hurt the exposition of those elements.

It's Marvel's first audible curse word. However, it's out of place in what is supposed to be a family film. It's already heavy with animal abuse and experiments, so profanity just adds to the weight.
Initially, Rocket proved ignorant to what a raccoon was when Peter Quill first used the term. By Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Rocket had clearly learned about raccoons - or nearly learned, since he actually used "raboon" before Groot corrected him - but greatly disliked being called one.

Afterwards, Quill bids farewell to alternate Gamora, accepting that she is not his Gamora. He leaves the Guardians and bestows the rank of captain upon Rocket before leaving for Earth, where he reunites with his grandfather Jason in Missouri.
