Jake – as Toruk Makto; rider of the Last Shadow – rallies over 15 clans to his aid, and with Neytiri at his side, he leads the clans against the Sky People and successfully defeats the human invaders. With the help of all of the clans and Eywa, the human virus is expunged from the planet.
By learning how to control and ride a Toruk, Jake Sully rightfully earns the title "Toruk Makto" and regains the trust and respect of the Na'vi after they become skeptical about his motives. With what follows, Jake mounts his Toruk and leads the Na'vi in their showdown against the evil forces of RDA.
In rare instances, one of the Na'vi manages to link with a toruk. This has only happened during tumultuous eras. Augustine's colleague Norm Spellman (Joel David Moore) was the father and Grace conceived Kiri before the end of Avatar before somehow giving birth in her Avatar body. However, the more interesting theory is that Kiri is literally the child of Eywa due to some sort of immaculate conception.
