Now, in Cobra Kai, Johnny has learned several big lessons, but he is still just as much a jerk in many ways—and that's never going to change. Redemption has been the theme of Cobra Kai, and over its five seasons, several old bad guys have come back to make amends.
Lawrence is no longer just a bad guy. In fact, the show questions if he ever really was. The audience learns early on of Lawrence's abusive stepfather and complacent mother and about how Cobra Kai was both an outlet for his anger and a way to cope with how defenseless he felt at home.

Who is the main villain in Cobra Kai?
Backstory. John Kreese in 1968 during the Vietnam War (as portrayed by Barrett Carnahan in Cobra Kai). Kreese was born on October 2, 1946. When he was young, he was troubled, as his father left him and his mentally unstable mother committed suicide and was picked on by other kids.
Mike Barnes is the tertiary antagonist in The Karate Kid Part III and a guest character in Season 5 in the Netflix series Cobra Kai. He is portrayed by Sean Kanan.
Johnny has two sons in his life now that he can be with both in the dojo for training and at home for family, Robby (His biological and actual son) and Miguel (His surrogate son).

John Kreese is the main antagonist of The Karate Kid franchise. He is a traumatized Vietnam War veteran and the founder of Cobra Kai, who teaches a philosophy of "no mercy", inadvertently encouraging generations of bullies.
Kreese orders Johnny to sweep Daniel's leg, considered unethical because of Daniel's injury. Fearing his sensei, Johnny manages to land an elbow on Daniel's bad leg, receiving a warning from the referee. Upon the restart of the round, Johnny loses the match after Daniel lands a crane kick to his face.
While many fans still think Kreese was simply manipulating Johnny by appealing to his ego, future seasons would prove that he was probably secretly proud of what he had accomplished. Their relationship was testy, but Kreese clearly looked at Johnny as a son, even if his lessons were downright abusive.
Though it took them a while to get over their own differences, work together, and even learn each other's fighting styles, Daniel and Johnny are now legitimate friends who fight for one another.
He eventually fully gets his legs moving and convinces Johnny to open up a new karate dojo called Eagle Fang. He gets back together with Samantha LaRusso and meets her father, Daniel.

In Cobra Kai season 1, Robby became jealous that his estranged father, Johnny, took Miguel under his wing and trained him as Cobra Kai's first student. Robby retaliated by ingratiating himself with Johnny's lifelong rival, Daniel LaRusso.

The fact that Cobra Kai season 6 will be the show's last means there will not be another opportunity for the show to give Cobra Kai back to Johnny Lawrence. However, more than defeating Terry Silver or John Kreese, season 6 must be about Johnny restoring what Cobra Kai can actually mean.
