Katniss' signature weapon is her bow and arrow throughout the whole Hunger Games franchise. From the very beginning of the franchise, it is clear that her ability to use a bow is the primary reason why she has a shot at winning the Hunger Games.
While fictional archers like Katniss and Legolas may not have realistic skills, directors prioritize making them look good on screen rather than accuracy. Katniss Everdeen has come down to history as one of the best archers in cinema.
Katniss has her knuckles curled around the bowstring, which is not correct; the back of her hand should be flat and relaxed, and the bowstring placed closer to the first joint of her index, middle and ring fingers. Her grip – the hand that holds the bow – also shows a finger on the arrow, which isn't safe.
Katniss Everdeen falls prey to the same nonsensical trope that finds its way into seemingly every action film franchise: never running out of ammo. Katniss goes through four movies without ever seeming to replenish her supply of arrows, as she always has one when she needs it.

Why did Katniss stop liking Gale?
In the end, Katniss and Gale grew apart, as many childhood friends and young loves do. She needed something different in her life, and with Gale's link to Primrose's death, Katniss found a reason to cut ties. If Katniss ever wanted to find comfort again, she knew she had to return to Peeta for the long term.
Weakness: She isn't always honest about her true emotions
However, at times, this can be a weakness. She has a difficult time understanding how she really feels about things, especially when it comes to relationships, and she's even worse at expressing those feelings.
The Hunger Games uses it as a symbol of defiance against the Capitol, adopted not only by Katniss but by members of the oppressed Districts who come to see her as their champion. The people in her home of District 12 use it as a long-standing gesture of respect, thanks, or good-bye.
Katniss refuses to kill Gale In Mockingjay, Katniss defied Gale's wishes when he was captured because she didn't want to see him dead. It seems like a nice thing for her to do, especially since Gale is soon able to escape out of the Peacekeepers' grasp because of the rebellion's "distraction".
It is revealed in Hunger Games that she has learned archery from her late farther. Her father made her first bow, which she keeps in a tree outside the District 12 border at the beginning of Hunger Games, in order to avoid any possible repercussion should the weapon be found in her home.
The skills and qualities she developed to cope with the everyday challenges of being poor, including her ability to hunt, her toughness, and her resourcefulness, turn out to be what keeps her alive through the Games. During the weeks over which the Games occur, Katniss's character does not fundamentally change.
She asks Gale and his family to escape into the woods with her. He agrees happily, and confesses that he loves her. He is disappointed by her reply that she cannot love anyone romantically at such a perilous time. He is further angered when he finds out that Katniss plans to bring Peeta along into the woods.
Katniss's focus on survival and her family's safety prevented her from fully considering romance, but her feelings for Peeta and Gale diverged in the end. Katniss ultimately chose Peeta because he understood her trauma and she didn't want to lose him, proving her love for him.
Gale was responsible for creating weapons that would trigger a second wave of bombs to target first responders and combat healers. This invention potentially ended up killing Prim, but even if he wasn't directly responsible, Katniss found this tactic so abhorrent that she lost her affection for him.
If Katniss hadn't volunteered, Prim most likely would have been killed and would not have won as her sister did. Prim was an intelligent, compassionate, and courageous individual with excellent medical skills, but she didn't have the combat skills or selective ruthlessness needed to win.
Protagonist Katniss Everdeen has two suitors: Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne. Some people prefer strong, hot-headed Gale, while others prefer kind, charismatic Peeta. When one closely examines both options, however, it becomes obvious that Peeta is the superior love interest.
How The Hunger Games Three-Finger Salute Evolved Throughout The Series. During The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the three-fingered salute is still used as a gesture of goodbye, but also comes to represent the anger and grief people feel toward the Capitol at taking their children to be killed.
Gale and Katniss' kiss is representative of the ongoing struggle between them, including their trying to reconcile their past with their present. Gale remembers that the last time Katniss kissed him was after he'd been lashed by a Peacekeeper.
Peeta used the dyes to paint a picture of Rue after Katniss covered her with flowers when she died. He says he wants to hold them accountable for killing Rue, and Effie tells him that that kind of thinking is forbidden. Katniss then tells the team she hung a dummy of Seneca Crane.
Katniss feels betrayed, most of all by Haymitch, who used her and Peeta. Eventually she wakes to find Gale there. He's badly injured and tells her the Capitol bombed District 12 after the Games. He got Prim and Katniss's mother out in time, but the District 12 is gone.
In the 74th Hunger Games, Clove was the only Career tribute who came close to killing Katniss twice — at the Bloodbath and at the Feast, and certainly seemed to have a deep hatred for her, perhaps because Katniss received a higher score than her.
For example, Katniss Everdeen has a fatal flaw of valuing others (beginning with her sister) and putting herself last. She does this numerous times, especially with Peeta. This major flaw in her character nearly gets her killed several times. She must overcome it to survive.
Although she will never know for sure, Katniss does recognize that she cannot be with Gale. She will never be able to forgive him for his idea — the parachute bombs — that killed Prim.
