While Scream 6 ended with both Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) surviving, one of the two legacy characters is apt to die in the next Ghostface massacre of Scream 7.
That's right, both Gale Weathers and Kirby Reed survive Scream VI! After losing Dewey in such a tragic way, it feels good to know that these OGs (along with Sidney) will live another day to fear Ghostface.
Mindy Meeks-Martin and Ethan Bailey survive their encounters with Ghostface, showing their resilience and determination. Sam Carpenter embraces her family legacy and accepts her killing instincts to protect her loved ones, showing her growth throughout the film.
An Easter egg in the fifth film, 2022's Scream, revealed that Kirby did survive. A call from Panettiere to the franchise's current creative team (known as Radio Silence) was enough to clinch her reappearance for Scream VI, which finds Kirby as an FBI agent who comes to New York City following another Ghostface attack.
Though the seventh film is still in the works, the franchise has hit a bump in the road as it has been reported that several cast members will no longer return for the sequel.
It wasn't until Scream 5 that fans officially learned that Kirby had survived thanks to a brief Easter egg labeling her a "survivor" of Ghostface's murders. And consequently those fans rallied for the fan-favorite character to come back and appear onscreen once again.
Detective Bailey, Quinn Bailey, and Ethan Landry were revealed as the killers at the end of Scream 6. Their motive was revenge for Detective Bailey's son's death.
Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere), whose fate was left ambiguous in the post-Scream 4 purgatory and was confirmed alive in a Scream (2022) Easter egg, made her triumphant return in the slasher series' latest sequel. And with her came official confirmation Stu is dead—at least, for now.

At the time of writing, the only confirmed character in Scream 7 is Sidney Prescott, but Gale is rumored to be returning as well, along with Mark Kincaid.
Horror film fanatics rejoice: Neve Campbell is coming back to the "Scream" franchise. On Tuesday, Campbell posted a picture to her verified Instagram showing the title page of a script for an "Untitled Scream 7" film, writing in the caption, "Sidney Prescott is coming back!"

“Scream 6” rides the momentum of the previous film and ups the ante in every way. It's funnier, scarier and much much bloodier. If you aren't a fan of gore, walk into this film with some caution. The kills are more frequent and take up more screen time than ever before.
Melissa Barrera was fired from "Scream 7" after making comments about the Israel-Gaza conflict. Then Jenna Ortega dropped out over scheduling conflicts with "Wednesday." Original star Neve Campbell has now confirmed that she's back for the sequel.
