Avengers: The Kang Dynasty has been retitled Avengers 5 in the wake of Jonathan Majors' recent guilty verdict. On December 18, the Kang actor was found guilty by a Manhattan jury of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment. Marvel subsequently dropped Majors from any future projects.
Marvel head Kevin Feige refuted the claim it was mulling over bringing Iron Man back. Speaking with Vanity Fair, Feige said Marvel Studios could not “magically undo” Tony Stark's death in Avengers: Endgame. “We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again,” Feige told Vanity Fair.
Renner could also return as Hawkeye in one of the two upcoming Avengers films. In Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Hawkeye could join the MCU's new heroes to stop the Council of Kangs. In Avengers: Secret Wars, the multiverse could bring the original Avengers back together, giving Renner's Hawkeye a perfect send-off.
In his last opportunity to escape, he had a brutal duel against Ant-Man, which resulted in Kang being shrunken and decimated by his own Engine Core, though his death inadvertently alerted the Council of Kangs about people interacting with the Multiverse, prompting them to take their own measures.
