Guillermo del Toro's lack of interest suggests Pacific Rim 3 won't happen. Although del Toro is the only proper option for Pacific Rim 3, it likely won't ever happen. The most recent Pacific Rim 3 update from del Toro was in 2021 when he stated he had no plans to return to the series.

With a gross of $290.9 million worldwide, the film was a box-office disappointment. It also received mixed reviews; many critics considered it inferior to del Toro's film and criticized its story, while praising its visual effects, action sequences, and performances of Boyega, Eastwood and Spaeny.
Unfortunately, Pacific Rim: Uprising loses the gravity and heart of the first film and is really made for kids this time round. There are a few "cringey" moments and it all seems a lot more light-hearted. The storyline is ok but it feels like there is a great film in there and it just couldn't get out.

Weight is related to size the same way volume is, so if a 6-foot robot weighs 160 pounds, a 270-foot robot would weigh 14.58 million pounds. Gipsy Avenger, however, is listed as only weighing 4 million pounds – an impossible statistic, at least when taking into account Galileo's findings.
Striker Eureka in the Hong Kong Shatterdome. The strongest and fastest of the Jaegers, Striker Eureka's fighting style is akin to that of a dirty boxer or a brutal brawler.
Violence & Scariness. The series has dark, ominous setting centering around war and a climbing death toll. The main characters spend the series fighting "titanic monsters from an unknown hellscape" with huge manmade robots. Buildings are crushed, monsters stabbed and shot (but there's no blood), and heroes are killed.
Foreshadowing - At one point, Cadet Suresh indicates how he would like to be honored when he dies and the other cadets joke about how many Jaegers will be at his funeral. During the final battle with the Mega Kaiju, Suresh is the only cadet to lose his life.
The good news is that Netflix has released the first images for the second season of the "Pacific Rim: The Black" anime show, along with a release date. The bad news is that this will serve as the final season of the show.
Uprising received middling reviews, having boiled the original film down to giant robots punching giant monsters. A third movie was never made, though there was an anime series released on Netflix in 2021, Pacific Rim: The Black.
Mega-Kaiju, Slattern, and Otachi stand out as iconic and destructive creatures in the Pacific Rim franchise. Pacific Rim's kaiju, while not as popular as other monsters, have distinctive traits and appearances worth recognizing.
